Born in Charlottesville, I’ve been a life long UVA basketball fan. Even though I was born during the Ralph Era, I grew up idolizing Bryant Stith and loving the defense the Hoos played under Jeff Jones. Tony Bennett brought us that same defensive intensity but added a skill level and fundamentals to go with it. This last year was a culmination of 40 plus years of UVA knocking on the door. To finally break through was so rewarding for me as a fan who has cared deeply from the time I first starting watching basketball.
