I think one of the more interesting stats to learn would be the minutes played by each player. Did the presumed starters get the lion’s share? Did Coach Bennett give a disproportionate amount of time to the newbies to see where they are on the developmental curve? And, none of this takes place in a vacuum. When opposing coaches go to their bench, does Coach Bennett do the same? There is just too much we don’t know (or, at least, too much I don’t know) to draw any conclusions about this edition of the 'Hoos!

Less depth helps them in a scrimmage in some ways. Best players are getting the reps.

Pretty impressive lockdown from the staff that after 2 scrimmages we don’t have a single ‘he was the leading scorer’ or a ‘so and so was blank from 3’

If my brother was about to beat me in a Nintendo game back in the day, I’d accidentally toss the controller toward the Nintendo in a desperate attempt to reset or freeze the game. Success rate was pretty low, but it led to a fight 100% of the time.

I think based on what we’ve been hearing, my confidence that that our ceiling is high has been confirmed. I do think our floor might be a littler higher than I initially thought. Having semi positive reviews in our 2 secret scrimmages helps me believe that we won’t have a catastrophic November & December…. As long as we avoid that, I think we’ll be in great shape.

Firmly in this camp as well. Just avoid the bad losses.
I truly believe the reason TB apparently lost it in practice the other day is he knows this team has the ability to be really good. It’s a matter of taking care of business early and continuing to grow.

Heard UVA won a close game Saturday. I assume the 3-point margin others posted is right.
McKneely had a big scoring game. Groves was good again. Would guess he’s a starter next Monday. Reece took over late.

Good to hear about McKneely. If we can make it work defensively (I’m skeptical) then I do love what an extra shooter like Groves can bring to our starting lineup.
Give me Beeks, McKneely, Rohde, Dunn, and Groves. Harris and Bond first off the bench depending on matchups. Buchanan first big off the bench when we need defense/size. Minor and Gertrude play situationally.

I would be ok with a Reece/iMac/?/Dunn/Groves lineup, as long as the ? is pretty much any wing rather than Harris (I’d even be ok with Taine as the starter there, though I think that’s very unlikely). Because, in addition to the Kihei flash-backs, that lineup with Harris as ? would get crushed on the boards.
If Rohde is indeed the ? as we all mostly expect, I’m happy with things. Probably still not a great rebounding team, but outside shooting should be better/deeper than we were mostly expecting.
Edit - With Rohde, our starting lineup would average (using KenPom heights) 2+" taller at each position than last year’s “BVP at the 5” lineup and over 1 1/2" taller at each position than our lineup with Shedrick.
