Well, they had a very nice cover of the song. My Maria was co-written and sung by B.W. Stevenson - it reached #1 in 1973. The Books & Dunn cover reached #1 on the country charts and was the #1 country song for 1996.

I take Bennett at his word that it’ll be competitive, rotating starting lineups early on etc. It’s going to take a while to settle into a regular rotational pattern.
I still expect Jordan Minor to play a lot. You don’t hear much about him because there’s naturally more excitement over Blake. Minor played pretty well vs Maryland after struggling some vs UConn. Blake didn’t score as much but was still solid on D. It’s probably a close to even split between those two early.
I also feel like people are underestimating how often Dunn will be used as a guard. Groves is going to be a big part of things…they’ll need to play that way at times to make it work.

Man, here I was thinking we don’t have enough PT for all our talented guards, so we’ll probably go small, and then it turns out we’re gonna run a jumbo lineup

Interesting on the big line up. I wonder if that is more of a product of Groves playing above expectations or Rohde below. I am assuming the later since we heard Rohde started against UConn and would assume Maryland. I still like the idea of starting Minor for the ‘setting the physical/rebounding tone’ but am intrigued by the Reece or Harris, iMac or Rohde, Dunn, Groves, Minor or BB line up combos. I suppose we could also see line ups where Bond is in instead of the big. It is easy to see CTB’s dilemma if guys haven’t seperated that much from each other

Yea that’s the main reason I want Dunn playing more 5 than 3. If we play RD heavy minutes at the 3 I don’t know how we keep the guards happy

I like the fact they’re comfortable playing Dunn at the 3. Do you think that helps or hurts Bond’s minutes? Could see it either way: Dunn could take his minutes at the 3, but also could open up an opportunity for Bond at the 4.
I don’ think it matters that much for Bond. There’s two pathways for him to crack the top 7 and get consistent playing time once the rotation settles in. Either squeeze Dante Harris into being little more than a backup to Reece, or he and Groves make themselves so valuable that small lineups push Jordan Minor out.

Tony stated what I have said all along…you can’t redshirt Gertrude. Players can not miss two years of live action.
Plus from what I heard he came in as a substitute in both scrimmages and provided a spark, especially on defense. As you saw in the blue/white game he basically shut down McKneely with really nice close-outs and even blocking one of his jumpers. Something we did not see anyone do last year. A lot of people think EG is a better defender NOW than bot McKneely and Rhode. When he gets his confidence back on offi=ence…look out
