Confirms what TU has been saying. Seems to me that Keels is more like Brogden than Warley. Not sure TB has had a player that plays like Warley. Would be interesting to see how he would use his versatility.
Who was the player we had in the A school? Thought I remember Roger Mason from way back. Anyone from the Bennett era?
Nova probably the choice? another domino that could affect Keels
HGN, say they only got only Warley in 2021. You said they would probably Be out of the pure PG market. Would they be looking for a CG/2G (McNeely/Hand type), a versatile forward (3/4) & a big (4 or 5 depending where Shedrick fits best) in 2022?
If Brizzi commits to Nova, would that significantly reduce their chances of landing Keels also?
Well thereâs 5 spots open by 2022. If one goes to Warley, theyâd still be after the same two types theyâre currently recruiting for 2021, a skilled 4 man and a center. It looks they have a shooter in mind for '22. After that, thereâs a bunch of ways to go. They wonât consider a PG a must but would sure take the right guy.
One of the catches with Warley is you have to give him an opportunity to play the point. Thatâs part of the deal. To a lesser extent with Keels too. They want him to follow the Brogdon path, develop into an NBA point guard. Doesnât mean he has to be THE lead guard, just help him develop the skills and play there some down the line.
Assume we arenât in it for Watson?
Think the rumors and predictions are UCLA
Dominoes are falling fast though.
Wait heâs making his decision with Titus and Tate? Thatâs hilarious
I think what makes him different from Carter Whitt is that he can play 1,2 & 3. Let him play a little bit of everything his FR year and then more PG minutes will be available after Clark leaves. I never saw how a decent PG recruit would work in 2021 but his versatility makes it work especially if we donât get Keels.
âWarley said his priorities for a college program are a trustworthy coaching staff, a challenging schedule, a welcoming school community, and a challenging academic environment.â I usually take these kind of player priority statements with a grain a salt because thereâs often a lot of hereâs what I should say in them, rather than what the player is really prioritizing. But itâs nice that UVA fits his stated priorities so well and has one of the best architectural schools in the country too. If the article is correct, though, our biggest competition is Michigan, and the Wolverines are well matched with his priorities as well.

Is it fair to assume that Casey Morsell might be hoping to have opportunities to play the point as well?
I may be alone in this opinion, but I am unsure it is really useful to use the term âpoint guardâ when discussing Coach Bennettâs offense. I think last year was something of an aberration. In most years, all the guards had to perform all the perimeter chores. They all had to be able to bring the ball up the court, they all had to be able to initiate the offense, they all had to be able to move through the offense without the ball, and they all had to be able to catch and shoot. Admittedly, some were more skilled at some of these tasks.than others, but they all had to be competent in all phases of the offensive game. One of my favorite plays from 2014 came in the ACCT final. Joe Harris was at point. Perrantes ran through the lane dragging the Duke defense, and Brogdon trailed behind him. Harris shuffled a pass to Brogdon who made an uncontested layup. I donât think that there are many people who would describe Joe Harris as a point guard, but he could perform the functions of one when required. Kyle Guy could do the same. Itâs not positionless basketball, but multi-tasking is demanded of all. As he gains experience, I fully expect to see Morsell with the ball at the point of attack on occasion.
Caseyâs ball handling is going to have to improve a good bit before this happens
I think thatâs true for Blocker-Mover and Continuity Ball Screen. Thereâs two positions in that offense, the perimeter guys, who either all need to be able use ball screens (in CBS) or able to shoot off screens (in BM), and the bigs who set picks either on ball in CBS and off ball in BM.
However, the last two seasons had as much âpoint guardâ play as weâve seen; the title game was a ton of spread ball screens with Ty in the decision-maker role, and this past season had a lot of possessions boiling down to Kihei using a Huff ball screen in a similar spread floor situation.
Overall, I think itâs true that offensively thereâs hasnât been a ton of differentiation between what different players do, but that is starting to seem subject to change in personnel. I bet the 4 position will look different too this season with Hauser being so good in the mid post.
Be patient guys. Im being told good news is coming.
Heck yeah!
Gotta give more than that Tu! Câmon!
I tell my people more. They know but I cant share info on a public forum or I will hurt my rep. My crew already ask me tu stop posting on these boards.
