I wish the dookies would have to sweat a recruit that played for a high school team called The Cavaliers with a V sabre logo. Not that it’d give them the same nauseous feeling that seeing that logo gives me.

How do we have zero kids from VA on scholarship? Didn’t we win the national championship a few years ago? Fresh and I were talking about this last night. Some of the best players in the ACC on other teams are from Virginia. Why aren’t we getting any of them? Not to mention a lot of other kids that go to Big Ten/sec/Big East and other schools are from VA. I know everyone misses on kids but where are the VA kids? Look at every ACC roster- at least 2-4 kids from The Commonwealth. Are playing or starting or contributing. Let’s tighten the reins in our home state. Again, not one kid on our current roster is on scholarship from the state of Virginia. That’s weird to me. Like- really weird.

Outside the 5 stars who want to be here, Virginia talent has sucked. Maybe the other ACC programs having Virginia kids is why the ACC is on the decline.
Our natty team had 0 virginia players (Mamadi doesnt count). The Virginia 5 stars don’t want to come here. Keels and Roach are technically DC kids in my mind and Mark Williams sister was a Duke legend. Bacot wasn’t coming here either. And we need more Mamadi/Kadin lanky mobile bigs.
Tons of good 3 and 4 stars leave our state. Here’s two- Mac Mclung and. Luke Garza. Think we could have used them? I agree that the five star kids will go to duke or Kentucky for the most part. But there’s a lot of really good kids in the state that end up elsewhere. And I don’t know why.

Mac McClung couldn’t shoot and didn’t shoot until his 4th year of college. Didn’t do much either. And we didn’t really recruit 2017 much with out large 2016 class. Needed kids who could buy into their roles, not kids with inflated egos due to their hs mixtapes.
Garza was a project who blew up. Those misses always happen.
Looking ahead no one really worth it in 2023 and only one kid in 2024 (Isaiah Abraham).
I do like us prioritizing North Carolina more. With London Johnson’s addition it will only strengthen that connection (Gill Mitchell Huff Murphy Gardner etc.). More talent in that state
Basketball recruiting is different in the modern age. Geographic location means very little when you can watch film of kids all over the country.

So you think Mac McClung wouldn’t have helped us the last few years? I think he would have been great under Tony. My opinion.

One of the biggest knocks on him was he didn’t defend…I’m not sure he would have gotten off the bench.
Of course. I do have to disagree with you. I dont think he’s that good of a player and even at texas tech it was arguable whether they were a better team when he was on the bench. Not committed to defense, not a strong shooter except for one season. Would have barely played with Jerome and Guy and also don’t want to mess with the butterfly effect of ruining anything regarding our 2018-2019 season.
In hindsight year there is a list of like 10,000 players who would have helped us after the natty LOL
