Next season if they need a shooting guard UNC can always knabb Malachi Pointdexter from the portal.
UNC fans in future will be like yugoslavian nationalists claiming their pride in their nation 4 years after the breakup of Yugoslavia. 2nd rate program looking up at Tony. Disheveled children praying at night that their basketball team scores more than 40 points in their upcoming game vs Virginia.
UNC is UNC. I would never sell them short. They have been really good for sixty-plus years through five different head coaches (with Matt Doherty being a bit of an exception and he wasn’t there that long). They have history, facilities, and a substantial fanbase. I doubt very seriously that they are about to enter a death spiral.
