2023 Late Recruiting Cycle

Or IMac. The TB recruit who played the highest level HS comp was probably Morsell, right?

Can’t teach 6’10 with athleticism. He’s got a hell of a foundation to build on.

Need a @Hooandtrue follow up post - profile, fit, video montage, and other schools involved tweet link

Thats @Richan34 job now

Oh we are having another visitor for the post? Must be redshirt candidate and also means we aren’t getting Stevenson.

I don’t know if Dunns offense will be there enough to get 30 minutes a game. It’s easier to teach players our D, than to really develop them offensively if they don’t have the ability already… In addition it’s alot to ask for in *one summer.

But I hope so!

The former, not the latter

Anthony Robinson Profile:

3rd GEN D1 ATH that wins all the runs. HMMM!

6’10 ’23 Anthony Robinson (South Florida)

What’s not to like about a strong, long armed 6’10 anchor in the paint. One thing was noticeable was the additional muscle Robinson has added to his frame. Robinson is an active defender and will create havoc defensively in the paint. He has good instincts defensively and does a good job of rebounding with his arms fully extended. At our NC Top 80 last year, Phenom’s Jeff Bendel wrote, “Robinson is a long, fluid, athletic post prospect with excellent physical tools and a ton of long-term upside remaining.” Averaging almost a “double double” last season (9.2 PPG; 9.3 RPG), Robinson should easily see an increase in production in both categories. Sidenote: Robinson’s mother played volleyball at Tennessee while his father played football at Georgia Tech, not to mention his grandfather played basketball collegiately at Cincinnati and also in the NBA. Talk about great bloodlines.

OK. Only two buckets in the state championship game.

More Darion or Akil?

It’s been so long. But Darion I think. Akil had quick feet and undersized big man moves. This kid is big and relies on it. Make sense?

Shield, and turn or straight up with it. Only saw one move in 7mins of HS tape. Needs some sessions with T-Wat ASAP and PDQ.

He’s played 0.5 AAU seasons of competitive basketball. The rest of his life he has been half a foot taller than everyone. He gets Rfr Mamadi level lost when you watch an actual game. He’s closer in preparedness to our international players than our other domestic recruits imo. High on Blake long term but expect next to nothing next year. A Dunn-eque season would be best case scenario

Joe was a guard

Oh was he? I don’t really remember.

At the same time Buchanan outplayed Carey Booth, Derik Queen, Jp Estrella head to head and more than held his own against Fiory Bidunga on top of impression at the Section 8 tournament in Arizona and also the Team USA workouts

Which is why he’s a super exciting 4-5 year prospect!

He played quite a bit of 4 his first two years. Out of necessity.

But yeah, he was a guard/wing. Wing in the Bennett parlance where he preferred his offense to have a lead guard, two wings, and two bigs (which was more often than not the case in 2014 and 2015).

Oh I like him!!! He dunks everything! Can he have a Dunn like impact sooner than later?

Maybe they’re setting themselves up for disappointment but I really think the staff is bullish on Buchanan earning time early. Reminds me of early feeling on Tobey but I think Buchanan is a little more fluid as an athlete. All indications are that they’re gonna roll with the youngin.

I also get what you’re saying about height being a huge advantage in lower level basketball but I think there’s enough of a sample size suggesting it’ll translate up.

You making sense, that’s why I hope we get Blue Cain to add perimeter shooting since our frontline is mostly defensive. Hopefully we get a reclass surprise in the front court.

If we can’t get Cain, assuming Beekman moves on, can we get Bliss to reclass?
