Right on. A four with a similar skill set to Wilkins is a model that works for us. If we can pair him with a solid five he could be a great addition.
I also see him being able to defend 3-5 out of the gate which would be huge. And if his 3 ball is serviceable then he has huge huge potential
Also think there could be a really intriguing lineup with
Reece, Isaac, transfer shooter, Dunn, Jennings
Obviously a bunch of ifs and speculation but thatās what this time of year is for
Seems like a kid you can play four-out/one-in with (with him being the one).
Like his vision and aggression.
I think Jennings has a high floor and weāll grow to really love him as a player. Very high likelihood heās at least a high motor, glue guy that will be a quality starter by his junior year. But I love that thereās more we could tap into - like some added range that could make him pretty lethal off the bounce.
Heās not a sexy addition but I bet we look back in a couple years and are very thankful he was a take. Just imo
Great points and it hits my one issue with him. Donāt think he is going to help that much next season. Years 2-3 sure. Why I am all in on taking 4 guys if you can get them. Bring in talent and let the roster work itself out.
I believe that Mama-D was borderline 5 star, and definitely was by the time he left. I would settle for a Wilkins, Atkins, or Akil Mitchell with the initial 4/5 spot- someone who can switch and recover etc. I do think we still need a stretch 4 or 5 as well to mix in with Blake and Dunnā¦but also do we need another low post player? Thatās where Iām caught up.
Comparing Jennings to Braxton Key. I donāt know about that one.
Right! The big thing about Braxton Key is that he could handle the ball *very well for a guy his size, and overall had pretty quick feet. Braxton was more of a 4/3.
Blake is both a stretch and post 5/4
Over/under on Minor committing during visit? I put it at a coin flip
My money is on next Tuesday or Wednesday. Finish out the weekend, put in a tipton request, and announce early next week
Fair. I think he does it. Not that Iām in favor. Not a fan of one year rentals unless itās a serious difference maker
If we were to get both Minor and Jennings, are they big enough pieces to increase momentum for guards? A true five?
Virginia and Iowa listed as amongst those (power 5) tracking him/keeping in contact.
That kid definitely would have had frosted tips in the late Nineties.
Not that thereās anything wrong with that.
Appears they are naturally frosted conveniently.
