I was gonna say the Merrimack Silver Buttons but that’s a whole other reference
I had to google the St. Thomas mascot last night. Then giggled.
All I know is the St Thomas one hahah. The Tommies. So I assume the Merrimacks are the All Dressed in Blacks
Yes!
The Tommies lol I was up that way for a little bit of my life over the last few years, that school was forced to go D1 because they were kicked out of their D3 conference for kicking too much ass
Leon= “the glue guy” lol
He’s going to make Imac so much better.
I’ve been in Minnesota my whole life, and went to a school in the conference. St. Thomas has recently been known as the Evil Empire in that conference because they were just a normal school that was pretty good at all sports until the money started rolling in, then they became near unbeatable.
Also, Johnnies, Gusties, Cobbers and Oles are some of the other nicknames for schools in the conference.
Curious if we are still involved with Elijah Hutchins-Everett?
I was right around the Fargo-Moorhead area, know all about the Cobbers!
The only team I get when I search him on Twitter is Seton Hall.
Surrounded by them! My family has a few Cobbers but my wife’s family has wayyyy too many!

People are asking “What’s next?”
Might need to brush up on his game theory before MBA at UT or anywhere else.
Honestly though, I hope it works out for him. If there were message boards opining on my questionable choices at that age, boy howdy.
My guesses are:
Minor-Akil
Rhode-Joe
Elijah- Thompson ++
Buchanan- Hopefully Darion foundation with Mamadi upside
Gotta think the next week or so is about Reece and Blue. Tony can be on the road for the live periods while those two make their decisions. Wonder if Reece around now should be hearing if he’s getting invited to the NBA or the G-League combines that start in about 3 weeks. Obviously if it ends up that Reece indeed turns pro AND Blue chooses to go elsewhere, it’s time to start considering other options.
After that, as HGN has alluded, a Jarin Stevenson decision probably isn’t imminent, so doubt that counts as “next”.
Put in some thought about what I’d like to see in a potential veteran big man addition to shore up the front court depth. It’s a tricky tightrope in WHO to add. You want Minor and Dunn starting. But you want at least ONE option available to back them up that isn’t a freshman (whether Leon, Blake, or even Stevenson). But you need that person to be okay coming in as a reserve. But you also want to make sure you leave enough wiggle for your rookies to have some PT to feel engaged and develop, and not feel boxed out long term by a guy with more immediate experience and a lot of years left.
So to me, ideally I’d look for a guy with 2 years remaining who’s okay with being a role player defensive/rebounding big man with decent garbage man or stretch offense chops. Maybe an Ivy League grad transfer (or Stanford or NU or other high academic) who would be motivated to come to UVA as a reserve in exchange for a spot in Darden or another top grad program. Someone who can give us an experienced, physically mature option when the rookies are struggling or outmanned, but still mentor them and make room for them as they improve, even sticking around in that same role next year, maybe as a starting 5 in '24-25 if Blake isn’t ready for one more year.
Obviously that’s a pretty specific set of circumstances, and not sure Tony would see it that way, or that that guy exists. But to me it would be a perfect use of the 11th or 12th scholarship.
