I don’t see a logjam. You’re thinking too much about each player at a specific position but Rohde can play 1-3, Dunn 3-4 (hell even 5 in small ball lineups), Bond 2-4, as just a few examples. We’re going to be able to play a lot of different lineups.
Nevermind I just realized this was in the context of KK.
Very up and down player, started out conference play last year by scoring double digits in the first four games and then only did it three more times in the final 16 along with losing his starting spot for a time. Insanely streaky shooter who is a 4 that wants to be a wing, we could do worse but I doubt he’d wanna come here and be a role player off the bench after averaging 26 mpg for a Power 5 team.
Your point still has validity. For all we know, Harris and Rohde will be our point guards going forward. That said, it isn’t as though Coach Bennett is adverse to putting two PGs on the floor together, but, regardless, this is supposedly/hopefully a very versatile addition to the roster. Additionally, it doesn’t mean that Rohde would necessarily be in competition with Murray, Bond, or, hopefully, Kneuppel for playing time.
Guerrier already has one transfer under his belt. Did he sit a year, or was he immediately eligible? Would he need to redshirt at his new school? And, if he redshirts, or has redshirted, how is his “covid bonus year” affected? Does he have one or two years remaining? Lots of procedual questions with this transfer.
I think grad transfers can do it without a waiver or sit out. I don’t know if he’s graduated or not. Likely all moot unless/until he’s a serious option
Awesome news today! I would love to see us land a true big from the portal. What about someone like Efton Reid? I know his college career has been disappointing so far but with his size and VA ties seems like someone to keep an eye on. We recruited him out of high school correct?
I’m thrilled that we got Minor and Rohde. But I also have to chuckle over the fact that I’m thrilled about poaching players from (checks notes) Merrimack and (checks notes again) St. Thomas. Strange times.
Ironically, both recent D-1 entrants. Not even eligible for the tourney (if they had been, Minor and Rohde would have led their teams to the final 4 runs).
I know the St. Thomas nickname only because HGN mentioned it in his writeup on Rohde. All I know about Merrimack is they’re the team that beat Fairleigh Dickinson but didn’t get in
