That looks atrocious
A lot of it isn’t for me either but they were one of the first sports(ish) media companies to pivot to podcasting/YouTube/etc before written form went down the drain. Also got way ahead of others in gambling content before that blew up.
Yea. The gambling stuff is a huge turnoff for me
Yup Barstool, for the most part, is a comedy publication that uses sports as its medium. Not a place for serious sports coverage. As podcasting has become bigger more traditional outlets have gone more that route as well. But as you said, they have a ‘first to the punch’ advantage.
Plus Portnoy’s built a big following around his personal brand and the Pardon My Take guys have been embraced by actual athletes and traditional media. Most of their success really comes from those 4 guys (Portnoy + the 3 main PMT guys)
Honestly I find the PMT guys pretty enjoyable. They talk about sports in the same way that I would talk about sports with my friends. It’s really refreshing compared to what you see on a traditional program which is either two guys yelling at each other or some expert talking down to you
Me: preseason scrimmages are hard to read much from outside of possible lineups and how players fared. They are basically practices with another team involved and trying different scenarios.
Also me: Sooo $50 on UVA moneyline vs UConn today right?

So with those two tweets, is it reasonable to infer that someone on the Georgia side leaked that they beat NC State full-stop no-context, and then someone on the NCSU side saw that and wanted it to be known that they didn’t have DJ Burns?
Certainly reads that way. Per source.
Not informative regarding individual performances, but…
FAU was a cool cinderella story. They also should have maybe lost to a meh Memphis team.
I think it ties back to March madness not being an entirely accurate painting of who the best teams in the country are, but I still think its the GOAT post season. One shot, one chance, everything on the line.
Slick Rick beats a solid Rutgers team missing two starters. Also just saw they may have a lot of roster turnover given their reliance currently on older transfers… Rick is 100% going to back channel Elijah Gertrude LOL
Eh I don’t think they were a Cinderella. They were a legit top 20 team last year. C-USA was also a top 10 conference iirc. Probably more about the nature of scrimmages than anything. Or UNC might actually be good this year
We’re gonna need to play real well to beat Florida.
That was my reaction as well. Unclear to me how seriously the scrimmages should be taken. I keep hearing that Matthew Cleveland is going to compensate for the loss of Miller, but I am really skeptical, and there was no mention of his impact. I suppose a box score – if it comes out – will make some things more clear.
Lewis Clark State was an NAIA baseball powerhouse in the nineties.
NM - baseball power still - 19 National titles.
