I agree with this, but I hope that TB doesn’t “fall in love” with Dante on the floor especially WITH Reece playing in tandem; kind of like he viewed BVP albeit playing a different role. I was not a BVP fan, personally and think TB should have made some adjustments once his injury was obviously limiting him.
Do you think Dante will play with Reece when we are playing small? That seems like it would work with a smaller lineup to me.
Reece, Harris, Rohde, Dunn, Buchanan isn’t terrible assuming Harris has enough gravity to draw defenders out past the arc. Especially if Dunn and Minor/Buchanan can patrol the defensive glass and get the ball out on breaks.
But does Dante have that ability given his very poor 3-point shooting? Seems as though they might leave him pretty open if that shooting continues. Hopefully he has improved his shooting over the past year.
Rohde is going to make that ranking look silly. I think his mix of eligibility remaining, size, versatility, shooting, etc will make him one of the best pickups of the offseason ultimately
Yeah, other teams begged Clark and Beeks to let it fly in past seasons. For better or worse though, Harris seems to have confidence those guys did not. He will probably take the bait.
Will be interesting to see how Dante is as a catch and shoot 3 guy. The data is for him was from such a ball dominant role I think he really is unknown in the context of running off of a screen and catching it open
Exactly, he and Rohde both will see and take fewer under duress shots. It’ll take 5-10 games before we understand what we have from outside for those two. Certainly expect the percentages to improve from with a different role this year.
I would really be interested to know how much the bad back played in his latter season decline. Most folks were quite happy with what they saw early on.
