Alabama and Auburnās basketball success at the moment is primarily fueled by a deep hatred of one another that canāt allow one to get a leg up in any sport if they can help it. Gumps would sooner burn it all down than let Auburn be a national title contender in something that they arenāt. They are going to let hate fuel each other to an iron bowl of basketball in the final 4.
Apparently Seth Trimble returned to UNC lasr year cause teams told him no because they didnt want to deal with his mom who is very engaged and active lol.
I am desperate though so i wish our next staff well in enduring that
Well not the Texas schools, but everyone else, yeah.
Led me to look this upā their endowment is right around the same size as ours, but Iām willing to bet our donor base is far more easily mineable for athletics.
Could be. Though idk. UVA has been known to punch itself in the dick on athletics/money matters. The recent football and wbb infusions hopefully portend a better path forward.
A sneaky contender for our next point guard: Daquan Davis. Has really picked up his play of recent with a solid 2:1 assist to turnover ratio. Good athlete too.
If Pitt blows up, I want to add Cam Corhen to the list. He was a @Hooandtrue dream recruit out of HS. But if Jaland Lowe portals instead of going pro, I could see Corhen joining him somewhere in Texas as heās a Texas kid too.
Adding Jizzle James and Miro Little to the list. Both underclassmen guards that already show elite pg skills that will probably thrive with better coaching in a better opportunity. Both have pretty elite vision and could be Hunter Sallis candidates.
Jizzle would have to change his name though because I honestly cannot with that name. I remember when Tony was watching him that aau season I thought āholy shit this kid can run a team but he really does not scoreā. Scores some more now but still a floor general type guard.
I like Jizzle better than Little; if that jumper comes around even just a touch, heād be a very good guard. Little feels a little further away from being good because he hasnāt shot well from 2 either, and has been more turnover prone.
Updated list. Of Course a new coach is going to have kids on his list Ive never heard of. And there are sleeper kids out there with higher ceiling but underwhelming underclassman stats not on my radar (like Elijah Saunders last year, who I again hope we can keep. He is such an ideal stretch 4 with actual pgs. Pay that man TJ Powerās money).
Moreso just kids that have been brought to my attention by others and scanning that are regional and are in situations where they may be likely to leave. Bet at most we only end up with 1-2 kids on this list.

Not gonna get Davis unless we have the highest bid, his hs recruitment turned into a nasty bidding war at the end. Flopped commitments multiple times after getting other $
Womp. Figured there might be some catch since he also was in that Overtime High school league. Did he even go to high school after transferring out of St Johns in DC?
Man there is going to be a lot of really good players available for cheap.
Seth Trimble concussed and playing the wing now when he gets subbed in killing his stats.
Caleb Foster just somehow getting overrecruited cause Duke is Duke even though he had a solid freshman seasons, and barely playing with any confidence when heās out there for his 5-10 minutes.
Isaiah Coleman missed a few games with back injury and came back and went 0-10. Daniel Skillings with 3 bad games in a row killing his stats on the season even though itās more indicative of cincy being in free fall)
Everyone is going to be focused on elite Uber bigs and Rafael Castro from George Washington gonna fall right into our laps.
@Hooandtrue who do you like as a Chucky Hepburn-level quality upperclassman that you can anchor the team around? Doesnāt have to be a guy who is a star now, Hepburn was a good complementary player at Wisconsin who leaped into a more central role at Louisville.
It might just be the hair but I literally have spent the last few weeks of thinking about Seth Trimble as a Chucky Hepburn type. Funny you mentioned that exact example that lead to me mentioning Trimble a lot more in this thread.
Louisville is very much on my mind with all of this LOL
I think Trimble and Rohde would pair really well together and especially in a super fast and aggressive Calhoun or Byington style offense.
edit: I do think Silas Demary Jr, Caleb Foster, and Jizzle James are all going to be really good guards as they take that upper class men leap
Trimble is interesting because we donāt really know what he can be as a PG. Heās always played with two very ball-dominant guards, so he doesnāt really get assists, but an optimistic lens would chalk that up to his role rather than his ability.
