Players like Blue Cain are a dime a dozen. If you want to win, you have to do a lot better than Blue Cain. We have better guards now than Blue Cain.
You arenāt going to develop a player like Blue Cain a lot more than he already is. There isnāt a whole hell of a lot of difference between soph I-Mac & Jr. I-Mac. Heās not going to be a much different player if he comes back next year either. If you want to talk development, talk Sharma & Gertrude. Those are underclassman that are going to be markedly better over time.
Donāt let the man bun give you Kyle Guy vibes. I assure you Blue Cain will never be that guy. (no pun intended)
Doesnāt have the man bun anymore. We donāt know who blue Cain will be as an upper class man and McKneely is bad example. Every player is different, and does different things in different environments.
There is a hell of a lot of difference between Sauners last year and this year, Rohde last year and this year, etc. etc.
Blue Cain is an underclassman and was a first team EYBL scholastic guy. Different caliber of player than Sharma. Numerous 15+ point games both this year and last year as a freshman in a much tougher SEC.
Blue Cain has been playing 25 to 30 minutes per game in college since he left Knox Catholic. Thatās 2 years of meaningful playing time at the P5 level for a guard that has been around the game all his life with the ball in his hand. Heās most likely not going to morph into something he isnāt. I donāt like his frame and build & thatās not going to drastically change.
When I said he was ass, that was total hyperbole. Iām not really knocking the kid. Heās a decent player and heās certainly serviceable. But if you want to really win at this level, you have to do better than Blue Cain.
A sophomore isnāt already fully developed. And the portal is full of kids leaving for better situations even if it means a reduced role to what they are used to (Louisville for example is full of guys taking bench roles after being starters. Koren Johnson, etc.c etc.)
Braeden Smith was one of the best pgs in the portal last spring and he chose to redshirt at Gonzaga this year for his future.
Blue Cain isnāt a PG. Heās a SG, average athlete with a thin frame.
Bookmark it. I promise Blue Cain isnāt a Mark Sears or Chaz Lanier. Iād take a Ty Pence before Blue Cain.
Didnāt you throw out the name Cam Corhen a few days ago? Where exactly does he fit in? Because if you need a non-athletic, soft big with bricks for hands, Cam is your guy.
What ever happened to Trent Perry? We were really jazzed about the possibility of getting him last yearā¦ any chance he portals (or follows Cronin to UVA when heās our next HC lol)
Was coming to UVa just worried about who would be the coach. Now the coach he chose lambasts him and teammates for being soft and complains about traveling around the country to play other teams, just like other teams do
