I like this - i have no idea if Ron works out or if one of the 1000 coaches everyone is recommending is our coach next year - but Ron needs to act like he is here long term.

I mentioned Green back in September, one of the assistants was down to see him. They had eyed him over the summer. He’s probably gonna be a pretty big time recruit. Big wing guard.
I’d expect Sanchez to do what they can during the season with 2026 recruiting, in anticipation of getting the job. But truthfully there isn’t much that can be done.
2026 recruiting will start once the HC job is settled and portal season is over.

Someone I hope the staff take a look at, whether it be Sanchez or someone else.
We need more points guards/ guards who can create and shoot. 5’11 pg out of Alexandria VA that is garnering a lot more attention (and someone that was already on Williford’s radar)

Edit: on 247 he’s not ranked but ESPN already has him in their top 60 for 2026.

I don’t see it happening though as long as Mallory stays put…everything is an if right now obviously.

Who knows the future, but the priority 2026 recruit in a world where we have meaningful roster continuity has to be a wing of some sort, right?
I think we need to add a pg or combo guard every class, and yeah a wing 3/4 as well (Isaiah Abraham in the portal).
Also need a project big to develop behind our current bigs (that Colin Ross kid seems like a good target. Cody Peck is going to be a 5 star next off season so I doubt either Sanchez or the next coach is going to have a shot there)
Hard to know without knowing departures. My guess is that there will be many
Athletic big guy from NC now at IMG Academy. Visited in August.

I heard Wilkins was the one who offered Manny Green. Could mean Sanchez would be a lot less formal about that sorta thing than TB. And also just good for Zay, moving up in the world.
