Itās entirely possible theyāre not as motivated as they might have been if Tony was still around.
This is the thing for me. If you canāt really beat an overplay defense consistently off the dribble then you need to be throwing backdoor passes. We seem constitutionally incapable of throwing them. Our guys cut backdoor (and often cut well) but the pass just doesnāt happen. I donāt know why.
Angles. We cut with bad angles. We position to pass with bad angles
You know why? We dont practice this is my guess
Watch Isaacs pass to whomever was cutting. Nothing had a chance from the get
@chavlicek15 loves Duke
Hav secretly loved Duke and UNC for one reason. They had way better gear than us
I instantly hated Bass Tech (VT) as soon as I got to UVA without really knowing why. They are my true north of despicability and blind-rageā¦ā¦ and remain so to this day.
I actually loved Duke and Carolina growing up, which was weird for a kid from Boston who grew up during the halcyon days of the Big East. Went to Carolina basketball camp and Duke basketball camp back to back weeks starting in about eighth grade. I kind of loved both of them, and little known fact, Fresh and I were campers together for a year or two.
But that love quickly, turned to hate upon enrollment at The University of Virginia. I canāt say which one I hated more because it would kind of rotate tween the axisās of evil.
Duke was more hateable with Laetner but then he graduated and I think my hatred shifted to UNC. Another fun fact⦠I donāt think we ever lost by less than 20 points at UNC in my time. It was always a noon game on ABC and we would lose by 20+ points every fucking time.
Now I divide my hatred equally amongst a potpourri of targets. However, Bass Tech still reigns supreme.
Non-basketball hatred is currently directed at Florida tourist traffic, holiday shopping, losing my keys occasionally, and small women who canāt drive their Escalades while texting their friends about lunch plans tomorrow and Stephanieās inappropriate attire at the charity gala last night.
A+ for proper punctuation at the end there (Hav did not find Stephanieās attire inappropriate and actually thought it was quite festive)
Also Hav has never not lost his keys since 1990. It was the most annoying game that he made everyone endure with him
Dude would give up and make me or Red drive my 1987 VW jetta playing either Shabba Ranks, Ice Cube, or Depeche Mode
This is why weāre brothers.
Lol wut
Lolā¦well that is one way to get old.
I get it. Hard to turn up your nose at a potential 50/40/90 guy with playmaking skills. But 6 mins of highlights with no dunks.
Is MC going to squeeze more ATH out of this mature a player?
Can Sharma dunk?
Iām guessing there is a lot that Sharma can do that he hasnāt shown.
Has anyone tagged āSharma Karmaā yet? Fitting, since he is of Indian descent.
Iāve come around to Sharma. Felt the people departing the Taine train was premature a few games back but I think the sample is sufficient now. His confidence didnāt come back.
Especially Sharmaās defense. Heās really good at staying in front of his man and being disruptive.
Iād like to see starters:
Ames
iMac
Sharma or Rohde
Saunders
Cofie
Then rotate Blake in at 15-20 mins per game with Robinson getting 5-10 spell minutes, similar to how we used Cafarro in 2022-2023 (or maybe the year prior?).
Taine another 10 to give other guys a breather as needed.
Power ⦠no idea. His mins have been so bad.
Why not? Kihei can.
This except give Sharma the start due to his superior athleticism and ability to score.
Yes, please. And take the training wheels off.
A little more going to the rim in the highlights from this game when he went off:
