I think it’s been like that since earlier in the week.
UCLA insider put out an article that probably boosted them to warm
I think the problem is it has little to do with how good of a student the transfer is, just an arbitrary evaluation of what credits we count from what school
Amazing that it is real and not photoshopped. So corny.
The nicknames were fun while they lasted.

Are we sure this guy isn’t the Jim ■■■■■■■■■ of the Missouri Valley??
The source is someone Jacquie from 247 follows/local beat writer.
Was kidding mostly. Just the fact that it was tweeted out by a Cardiologist.
No jokes. Basketball recruiting is serious. Life or death.
Our Good Feet money and new exciting offense not attracting talent.
We can’t giveaway clear avenues to playing time at the point and at the 4. This is trending toward a Hindenburg-like portal season.
He was gonna stink on defense and be one dimensional on offense. We probably passed.
I had a feeling the offensive incompetence this year would make things tougher, but had no idea it would be this bad.
Guess an ACC starting spot ain’t what it used to be. Thought that plus our improved NIL would have us plenty of 1s and 4s to chose from. Still hope at guard not sure of the picture with the 4s
Yeah I think the things working against us:
-ending the season failing to score 50 points in 3 blowouts all on national TV (one game where we had all eyes across America on us)
-two multi year transfer portal recruits (Rohde/Dante) who put up big numbers elsewhere whose production significantly diminished (part of that is their lack of potential and versatility though)
-One grad transfer (Minor) who went from being his conference defensive player of the year to barely seeing the floor for half the season and then even later not being used as well as he could have been (although he was also extremely limited as well in ways)
We are a high risk for many transfers. Of course we UVA fans are more intimately aware of our team outside incomplete national narratives and know that coaching scheme hasn’t been great but the more pertinent issue is talent and player retention/some really weird personnel and roster decisions over the years all building up with us also being runner up on Juzang Keels Reed Kon Kaufman Foster on top of us bringing in low talent transfers AND heavily relying on their “experience” (first year at UVA though) all accumulating into this season
Not the death of the program: We have a lot of young talent on the roster that could develop real nicely long term. And hell this portall offseason ain’t over yet (CMON TRENT PERRY I BELIEVE). But the hurdles are unfortunately very real.
This is the thing that helps me let the portal season wash over my back. Right now the floor is we end up “having to” give minutes to 9 guys, 8 of which can come back for 2025-26. Even just one guard and one forward add puts things in a comfortable position depth-wise, and if they are both multi-year guys, we could bring back 10 for 2025-26. Even with accounting for attrition (or maybe we don’t need to lol) that’s a solid longer-term picture.
So Liam seems like a lock to UConn now, prob doesn’t affect Aidan at all, different positions
