Not even going to bother watching these highlights. If he coach is heading to WVU that’s where he’s going. NEXT

Agreed. Adding a high usage guard is the simplest solution to losing a lot of usage with Reece going. But at least for the higher usage guards we have contacted, they all are coming from lower level teams, so there’s the step-up factor to contend with.

It would just feel right to me that Kaiser plays for Tech. Feels like it would be a good fit.

Edit- I don’t mean this sarcastically lol.

Pour one out for the Maryland board insider who signed Kaiser’s mom up for a gym membership once.

Pedulla visited Creighton. Yeah patience dead period whatever. Im angsty as hell and it’s a valid way to feel. Teams that went deep into the tournament are already hosting visitors.

Yep….you’ve seen Discord. Lots of teams that wndwd later than us have hosted guys, but we’re still working out our list. That said I am assuming we are Zooming the hell out of guys (we better be) while admissions is pouring over transcripts. I don’t like the fact that I haven’t seen any new staff follows this week.

6’5 shooting guard. Copium in that we are losing more to add more than a pg and a forward?

Or UVA as window dressing when we texted this kid with a ā€œhey you up?ā€ text 3 weeks ago? lol probably this

It’s gonna be like in college. Add….drop…..add…..drop

I’m not going to tell folks who are still somewhat positive on Rohde that it can’t work out - I saw some flashes too - but I think it’s important to put in context how bad he was this year.

Using Torvik’s site, you can compare him to every other player in the country who played at least the same share of minutes he played (60%). When you do so, you’ll see that - among players in the entire nation - he put up:

  • O-Rating: 3rd worst
  • Effective FG Percentage: 5th worst
  • True Shooting Percentage: 2nd worst
  • Offensive Rebounding Percentage: 2nd worst
  • Free Throw Rate: 17th worst
  • Overall Torvik Performance Rating: 9th worst

For most of those categories, he was the worst in all of the power conferences, only underperformed by kids at schools like Florida A&M, Wagner, Delaware St, etc.

He didn’t just have a little bit of a rough year. He put up a disastrous statistical performance that was near the worst in all of college basketball for somebody given as many minutes as he was. So I’ll also hold out some hope, but that context is needed for anybody prognosticating.

Perhaps a dumb question: does it matter if we are first on lists like this? Based on the schools listed it feels like Edwards wants UVA/A&M to be first to make it look better.

Tipton Edits recent follows: Jamal Shead, Jackson Shelstead, Deshawn Harris Smith (would be a good Hokies target), and Kylan Boswell.

Shead is going to be a HUGE bidding war (Duke and Kansas fans have been foaming at the mouth since that smoke appeared a few weeks ago)

Im a HUGE Jackso Shelstead fan but he’s more of an undersized shooting guard than a point guard.

Deshawn definitely isn’t a point guard nor is he a shooter but he would be a good add for the Hokies long term.

Woah Shead is not one I would have been thinking of. Damn COVID year.

There’ve been rumblings of smoke. But at the same time many are conflicted because it seems like Kelvin Sampson loves him. The recent Tipton follow adds more fuel to the fire. Maybe just an NBA edit?

I will settle for nothing less than Trent Perry.

What would be better at UVA?

  • Reece + IMac + Rohde/Taine
  • Pedulla + IMac + Eli/Taine

The one with Reece.

But a guard rotation that involves Rohde and Taine getting serious minutes makes me vomit everywhere. LOL.

I took Pedulla imac and eli - Reece is my all time favorite Hoo - but two shooters with Eli’s ability to get into the paint was too hard to pass up
