Was bfmcap and switched back to my old sabre days id of fuhoo. Cain was my guy last year. Saw him a number of times and was hoping we would get a chance to steal him. Anderson is my guy this year
Started the decommit and look at uva whisper to the OH coaches in january. Like Cain a little better because of his height and ability to get to the rim against big time competition. But Anderson checks all the boxes and he can absolutely stroke it. And probably a better fit now because he is more of a pure pg. Younger brother is big time.

Very impressive get for Tech.
Just to close the loop on this, there seems like there would be a strong board preference for a scorer like McBride or Leach, especially since they both hit 3s at a good percentage, with maybe McBride preferred because he can hit a lot of them unassisted. Perhaps if people knew the conferences of the players, Pope and Harris would rise up the list. But I was doing this to get more of the profile of the guard people would want rather than the specific person.
Being the first scholarship player, young could literally sell him all of the minutes

I think we absolutely need someone who can get a bucket when we need it. We’ve had shooters of varying efficiency over the years (iMac, Jake, Sam, Trey, Armaan, Woldo, Jay), but when was the last time we had someone who could create their own shots – and hit them? Consistently? I’d say not since Ty and Dre.
In the interim, guys like Kihei and Reece did their best to fill the void, but it wasn’t where they were best. It would be nice to find someone to finally take on that role.

No idea how they have much NIL left over to round out the roster, but JIC is jumping into a starting role on an ACC team with LOTS of shots available. They won’t be good next year but you better believe they’ll be annoying as always.
Not really a PG, but had a very nice year at Drake:
His coach (and the coach’s son, Drake’s best player) is at W. Virginia now, so I assume they would be the one to watch.

Just once I want a name to drop where it’s like “UVA is the one to watch here”… I guess you could say that with Maliq Brown though.
But feels like any guard we’ve reached out to is quickly met with a “Trilly saying he’s pre-baked to INSERT DMV SCHOOL” or “he’s getting a huge SEC bag”
Going to be patient though. The right fit is out there for sure. Hell, even VT landed a solid player on a dumpster fire roster. There’s going to be a kid who sees a really great opportunity here with Reece leaving and be all over it.
