Okay just look at process then: whatâs more of a âclogging the pipelineâ move? Taking the 2nd best shooter in the EYBL or taking a terrible shooter from a terrible college program? Harris didnât make sense at the time and his occupation of a scholarship is whatâs causing the problem now

When we added Harris, we were trying to fill a specific role, in this case an emergency backup guard in case Reece entered the NBA. CTB could have held that scholarship open and rolled the dice with whatever was available later if Reece left or pocketed the scholarship for flexibility if he stayed. He preferred the certainty of Harris.
When we added Sharma, we were trying to fill a specific role, in this case a large guard/wing that could shoot. Originally it was held for Kon. But once Kon passed, CTB could have held that scholarship for players that would be available later or flexibility for the roster. Instead, he preferred the certainty of Sharma
CTB consistently demonstrates that he prefers to avoid risk and will fill scholarships instead of holding them open. This worked fine when you could largely plan rosters years ahead, but simply does not make sense when rosters can change year over year
