Nevermind. Full schedule is released
Oof that @VT on Saturday to big Monday against Duke, to @UNC the following weekend is a brutal stretch but should be fun
I’d have to go back and look but I swear we play UNC Duke the same week almost every year. Also love that the tough stretch isn’t until mid February
VT is gonna stink. Getting UNC and Duke late is a break. Plenty of time for us to hit our stride. I hate that we do t get our customary Sat final home game. Tues night FSU. Blah.
I kinda like getting the West Coast trip out of the way early. And that I don’t really have to pay attention to Cal, Stanford, and SMU after mid-January if I don’t want to.
Cal game tips at 11 pm on a Wednesday I hate this All Coast Conference thing
So we got SMU/VT/UL as our home and away teams. Not horrible, will be interesting to see how SMU and Louisville both look with new coaches.
Gonna be a lot of travel time in the month of January.
So are there still 2 “rivals” everybody plays twice annually? I assume so if VT and Louisville are still 2x.
I know it’s New Years Eve but that noon start on a Tuesday against NCSU is going to be odd.
On the plus side, at least our guys won’t be in class when they make the California trip. That simplifies that equation at least a little bit.
Does anyone else hate the way they did home and away in this graphic instead of just giving them in order with different coloring or something?
It’s a good schedule as far as the things the school cares most about. Plenty of weekend home games, after they screwed us on that last year, and high profile home games.
I don’t like being SMU’s first ACC game, down there no less. That’ll be walking into a lion’s den. And jokes aside, playing at 11pm is a huge advantage for Cal. Scheduling details made two winnable road games a lot harder.
Not crazy about playing on back to back Mondays either, those games are schedule disruptors. But that’s more of a minor nitpick.
Was just coming on to say this. I have no linear sense of when games are. Terrible visual for processing like humans want to
Our Monday games are on Feb. 3 and 17, so not consecutive weeks.
I’m most annoyed that we don’t open on the opening night of the season, Nov. 4. When was the last time we didn’t?
yeah my bad, there’s a bye slipped in there.
VT will be a preseason bottom 4 ACC team. We have our challenges there but the game at Cassell is becoming an annoying mental thing like the football game. It should be one of our easier road games
Remember what happened the last time we played during the day of a (weekday) New Year’s Eve? Dropped 100.
The homepage has a more conventional schedule:
Hate that I’m being robbed of the opportunity to see the boys in ATL this yr.
