Hoos hang on to win 74-66, hit a couple key threes to avoid disaster.
But something just isnât clicking with this team, no excuse for this game to end up being this close.

This absolutely the Pete Gillian era pt 2
Just doesnât seem like this team is capable of learning from their mistakes under the staff.
Its ok. Reddit donated money to the program
You think money goes far in football wait til you see what a few mil can do in womens hoops
Lets see my brother
I mean Caitlin Clark only makes like $75k/year in the WNBA. I think we can do better than that.
I get it but does that immediately mean we can play with South Carolina etc? I am not convinced
Mox inherited a sub-basement level dead program. Iâm willing to give her at least 2 more years to show progress. Last year showed some promise. Not so much so far this year. Feels like the on court product has regressed. But Iâd still give her through Moâs college career here.
No way man. Reddit money isnât getting us to the level of South Carolina or LSU or UConn, etcâŚ
Dawnâs making over 3 mil so you can imagine what the programâs budget must be.
SC? No they have money and the best coach in the game. But get out of the basement of the ACC and onto a ND level? Possible
How does South Carolina afford her? Football money or whale backer?
Sec football money and some big donors stepped up.
They also lead womenâs college basketball in attendance. They drew 15k for a Thursday night game against Charleston Southern. Thatâs higher than JPJâs capacity.
If next year is disappointing, itâll be time to question whether Mox should be replaced. Hoping it doesnât come to that, she has a ton of energy and the vibe turnaround for the program has been extraordinary. But she has solid talent on the roster, and by next year it wonât be a young team anymore, either.
This is my concern. I think she should definitely be given enough time, but the team still plays a lot of sloppy sloppy basketball for a squad thatâs now had multiple years to install Moxâs system. They shouldnât look as bad as they often do at this point. But I like Coach Mox and want her to succeed so I really hope they do start to get it together.
Yes and no. I generally agree with the concept. But due to roster turnover its not exactly true. Who are the vets on the team that have more than 1 yr in her system? Vaughn is the vet with 3 yrs in?
Sure, but thatâs hoops these days. Expecting to have a big chunk of the team to have multiple years of experience in your system just isnât going to happen anymore.
Next year, sheâll have a reasonably veteran team, of her players, who should mostly (Mox has handled the portal pretty well so far) be experienced in her system.
For sure i dont expect to see a lineup upf 4th yrs. But you need more than 1 player with 3 yrs experience. Like you said fast forward to next year and you have a core of 3rd and 2nd yrs and you have something
So Noyan was hospitalized for a week with pneumonia and is just now getting back to normal. Thatâs where sheâs been.
