Struggling against Cal who is a very good team, down 26-13 in the 2nd quarter. Lattimore also just got injured and is down on the floor.

Did anyone see what happened to Lattimore? I was making dinner & looked when I heard the announcers say she was down. She’s really not moving much at all. Scary.

She banged her head really hard on the floor going for a rebound.

I ended up seeing the replay. So scary. And I’m sure this is naive of me, but it was super off-putting to me that the Cal team was huddled up, getting coaching, when we had someone down & not moving.

Down 41-25 at half.

Cal has absolutely killed us on the glass, 26-10 margin.

Cal wins 75-58. Got dominated on the boards and only shot 33% from the floor, not a good combo.

Was already gonna be tough on size and then
lattimore getting hurt erased all chance

Men’s team today too

Is Hurd injured too? Saw she left for good with about 7 minutes left and someone was sitting with her but I didn’t see what happened (by then I only had the game on in the background and on mute).

Nope my dude - think again…. There’s definitely a Chance

Yeah we were struggling early but Lattimore going down basically wiped away any comeback effort we could’ve had.

Cal is really solid and I’m sure Mox understands that we’re gonna have to get stronger and deeper in our frontcourt in order to beat teams like that consistently.

This site has us as the 3rd team out, which is way more optimistic than I am. I thought we were WNIT bound, not even WBIT.

If not for the disaster in the Puerto Rico Shootout, I’d believe we’re on the cut line. As it is, I think we’ll make the WBIT. First WBIT game is almost two weeks away, hopefully we’re healed up by then.

Is Lattimore really pronounced Lat T More?

Is the WBIT more prestigious than the WNIT?

The WNIT is a for-profit enterprise that’s been around a while. The WBIT was introduced last year by the NCAA as part of a Title IX equity thing, since the NCAA runs the NIT and they weren’t doing something comparable for women. So roughly, comparing to the men’s tourneys we know:

WBIT = NIT
WNIT = CBI or CIT or whatever

End of the day any postseason opportunity would be welcome. Young team would benefit from any additional practice and competition and experience they can get.
