UVa-Irvine game would be the Tony Shaver Bowl (L-R: Griff, Odom, Russel Turner)
Leon Bond and N Iowa win conf tourney. Headed for a 12 or 13…?
Id be very supportive of Bond returning next year.
I think a 13 for now. The 12 losses are rough when comparing with teams that have like four, but depends on if other one seeds lose.
USF/McNeese/Yale/High Point would be my 12s right now
But that is not a 13 I would want to face. Top 70 in KenPom.
Come for Evan Miya’s UNI analysis.
Stay for a Leon Bond dunk.

Which means it’s absolutely who we’ll get. How were they top 70 kp yet only finished 6th in conference. Wild.
Had some pretty decent wins in the non-con as well as close loses to St Mary’s, Wichita State and Tulsa.
Had a terrible stretch in conference but never really got blown out. In their wins, seemed to exceed expectations in margin.
I don’t wanna jinx anything, but I am more confident in our ability to not get upset round 1 than I was with almost any post-2019 Bennett team. Mostly bc of our bigs. TDR, Johann, and Ugo will feast against most teams we’d play round 1. We also weren’t played remotely close by any mid majors we saw in our non-con, and that was before the guys had fully learned how to play together and we were playing teams like Butler and NW dangerously close.
Nothing guaranteed in March but we shouldn’t be a popular upset pick for anyone who has actually watched us this year. Our 3pt defense has been statistically great too despite sometimes feeling like the opposite.
I have had this thought but I’m only willing to express it in months not named March. ![]()
I think this is generally true of course, but also Zach Edey lost to a 16 seed somehow
I thought he had a line to the room (so he’s terrible but then makes major adjustments right at the end when he gets the “inside scoop,” so his stuff is worthless all year but useful the final weekend, but maybe that leak’s been plugged)
Queens won the ASUN and is going dancing. Another win over a tournament team on our resume.
Is this the first year they’re eligible? At least one of the first I think
Iowa win over Nebraska looking unlikely. We got a lot of luck from other outcomes this weekend, so can’t complain too much, but that one would have been really helpful for our 3 seed chances.
Cut it to four despite Stirtz having a quiet day

Now looks like OT
We may be blessed
I feel like we could be a team the committee is higher on than the media. They’ve been more kind to the ACC than ESPN has in recent years (probably since they’re not being paid by the SEC like ESPN).
I think winning an ACC tournament game could get us a 3. I think winning two guarantees it.
Love Leon but he’s at the level he needs to be.
Purdue seems to be locked into a top 3 seed for whatever reason so I’m afraid Bama is going to take the last 3 seed from us.
