he definitely got an inside tip about uva being the last 3 over nebraska on saturday
Won by one. Phew, I still get to make fun of him for one more year
Why do they have Arizona playing at 10:30 AM local time in San Diego on Friday?
That is odd, isn’t it? I see the ESPN bracket game times in PT since I’m here in San Francisco. And yeah, 10:35 am.
They’ve got no problem starting a game in Philadelphia at 10PM, but they start the last game in San Diego at 6:45PM?
Push those west coast sites 2 hours each and start the last games there at 9ish local to create a new exclusive midnight eastern viewing window and you add another 15-25% to total viewership for the day.
Maybe this’ll happen after Skydance buys WBD and owns all the broadcast rights again. And can offer 15+ hours of game action a day the first 2 days on Paramount+.
Arkansas having a Meleek Thomas is gonna confuse me when I hear him talked about. Pronounced the same as our Malik Thomas.
Really good thread on how the committee puts the brackets together once they determine the seed list.
I didn’t know that once the 1-4 seeds are placed in their 1st weekend sites, the 5-16 seeds are then placed in the closest available first weekend sites rather than based on the closest region.

Great thread highlighting how important the true seed list is. No one got moved up and down this year for bracketing principles but those are always so annoying (BYU).
So helpful to see the competitive balance rule as well. I assumed it was the goal for each region, not just 1-4 so there go where some of my mistakes came from trying to force balance but within the principles.
I’m pretty sure our game vs. OU in Columbia didn’t end till past midnight that Sunday. I had to catch a 5 am flight from CLT to LGA to get to a 9 am meeting in midtown that next am. That was a brutal Monday.
I did not know that, even after the protected seeds, priority was given to first weekend pod location over regional location. Cool thread. Thanks for sharing!
By moving up the one spot - 2nd round is Tennessee instead of
Wisconsin
Wendy’s sucks.

Tennessee is 6 spots higher on kenpom but I really would not want to play Wisconsin. Tennessee doesnt shoot a lot of 3s and Wisconsin takes a ton. I like UVA’s chances against any team that is going to be relying on scoring over Ugo.
I am curious what the plan will be for Ament if that matchup happens.

No thank you.
Alabama culture strikes again?
Think the committee did a pretty great job in general but this feels like they were trying a little too hard to prove the Sunday results mattered. Vandy should have been a 4 even with a loss

I thought Vandy was playing for the last 3 and Arkansas was playing for the last 4, not that they were both playing for the last 4. They also should have gotten a little grace for the Duke Miles injury. Their one Q2 loss (Oklahoma at home) was with him out, and obviously he was huge for their SECT run.
I think St. John’s should have gotten a 4 and Alabama and Kansas should have been bumped to the 5 line.
