Quarterback:
Gone:
- Chandler Morris - Graduate (waiver denied)
- Grady Brosterhouse - Transfer
- Daniel Kaelin - Transfer (Nebraska)
- Bjorn Jurgensen - Transfer (Hawaii)
Eligible to Return:
- Cole Geer - RS Fr
Incoming:
- Beau Pribula - RS Sr - Missouri
- Eli Holstein - RS Jr - Pitt
- Ely Hamrick - 3-star Fr
Status: None remaining. The staff brought in a surprising TWO experienced P4 starters, with Pribula expected to start in 2026 and Holstein in waiting for 2027 while two promising rookies mature. Technically Morris could return as well as he sues over his denied waiver, but that’s a long shot.
Running Back
Gone:
- J’Mari Taylor - Graduate
- Harrison Waylee - Graduate
- Davis Lane - Transfer
Eligible to Return:
- Xavier Brown - RS Sr
- Noah Vaughn - RS Jr
- Xay Davis - RS Fr
Incoming:
- Jekail Middlebrook - RS Jr - MTSU
- Peyton Lewis - Jr - Tennessee
- APB Solomon Beebe - Jr - UAB
- Jae’Oyn Williams - 3-star Fr
Status: With the injury concerns to both Brown and Vaughn, transfer options were needed. Middlebrook projects well as an every down between-the-20’s option with Lewis available for red zone work. Beebe is listed as an RB but may project best as a slot receiver, similar in that vein to Bronco-era RB/WR Olamide Zaccheaus.
Wide Receiver
Gone:
- Jayden Thomas - Graduate
- Cam Ross - Graduate
- Trell Harris - Transfer
- Andre Greene - Transfer (GA Southern)
- Suderian Harrison - Transfer (ETSU)
- Eli Wood - Transfer (Utah St)
Eligible to Return:
- Jahmal Edrine - RS Sr
- Kam Courtney - RS Jr
- TyLyric Coleman - RS Jr
- Triston Ward - RS So
- Dillon Newton-Short - So
- Isaiah Robinson - So
- Josiah Abdullah - RS Fr
Incoming:
- Jacquon Gibson - RS Sr - UMass
- Tyson Davis - RS Sr - Central Michigan
- Da’Shawn Martin - Jr - Kent State
- Rico Flores Jr. - RS Jr - UCLA
- Dylan Cope - Fr
- DaMari Carter - Fr
- Isaiah Harris - Fr
- Jack Rhodes - Fr
Status: A flurry of late transfers gives the offense six established upperclassmen from which to build a 2-deep, even if it means promising youngsters have to wait another year.
Tight End
Gone:
- Sage Ennis - Graduate
Eligible to Return:
- Dakota Twitty - RS Sr
- TeKai Kirby - RS Jr
- John Rogers - RS So
- Willem Thurber - RS Fr
- Justin Zames - RS Fr
Incoming:
- Lukas Ungar - RS Sr - NM State
- Connor Cox - RS Jr - UNC
Status: A lot depends on the confidence level in Twitty returning to form by next fall. Rogers looked promising as Ennis’ backup down the stretch, and could earn a bigger role. What do we have in the rest of the depth chart with Kirby, Thurber and Zames? Cox was a blocking specialist at UNC, but then again the same was said about Ennis’ role at Clemson before he became a solid factor in the passing game here. Ungar was also a relative nonentity in the passing game but may add value as a blocker.
Offensive Line
Gone:
- Brady Wilson - Graduate
- Wallace Unamba - Dismissed
- Kevin Wigenton - Graduate
- Tyshawn Wyatt - Transfer
Eligible to Return:
- McKale Boley - Bonus Sr
- Jack Witmer - Bonus Sr
- Noah Josey - Bonus Sr
- Drake Metcalf - Bonus Sr
- Ethan Sipe - Bonus Sr
- Monroe Mills - Bonus Sr
- Makilan Thomas - RS Sr
- Noah Hartsoe - RS Sr
- Cole Surber - RS Jr
- David Wohlabaugh - RS Jr
- Grant Ellinger - RS So
- Ben York - RS So
- Dane Wlekinski - RS So
- Jon Adair - RS Fr
- Jim Harris - RS Fr
- Grayson Reid - RS Fr
Incoming:
- Ryan Brubaker - RS Sr - South Carolina
- Alex Payne - RS Fr - USC
- Dylan Biehl - Fr
- Luke Hatfield - Fr
- Michael Gildea - Fr
Status: Some questions do remain despite having more than enough raw numbers to work with. Do Thomas and Mills come back near 100% or not? Do Witmer or Wohlabaugh decide to call it a career? Is Brubaker playable or just a veteran presence with injury history? A number of the young guys do show promise, York having exploded into the lineup this year, Hartsoe and Ellinger getting reps in all 12 games and ending the year 2nd on the depth chart at Center and LG respectively. Time will tell if the staff feels any of the other underclassmen are ready to step up into the 2-deep.
Defensive Line
Gone:
- Jahmeer Carter - Graduate
- Jacob Holmes - Graduate
- Mitchell Melton - Pro
- Cazeem Moore - Graduate
- Daniel Rickert - Graduate
- Terrell Jones - Transfer (USF)
- Hunter Osborne - Transfer (Arkansas)
- Mekhi Buchanan - Transfer (Texas State)
Eligible to Return:
- Fisher Camac - RS Sr - SDE
- Anthony Britton - RS Jr - DT
- Jason Hammond - RS Jr - DT
- Tyler Simmons - RS So - DE/DT
- Chase Morrison - RS So - Edge
- Jewett Hayes - RS So - Edge
- Billy Koudelka - RS So - SDE
- Evan Ward - RS Fr - Edge
- Sichan John - RS Fr - DT
Incoming:
- Darrion Henry-Young - Bonus Sr - SDE/DT - Coastal Carolina
- Matthew Fobbs-White - RS Sr - Edge - Baylor
- Zion Wilson - RS Sr - DT - ECU
- Ezekiel Larry - RS Sr - Edge - Yale
- Nnanna Anyanwu - RS Jr - Edge - UTSA
- Jonathan Allen - RS Jr - DT - UAB
- Jamond Mathis - RS Jr - SDE/Edge - Kent State
- Devon Baxter - RS So - SDE - Michigan
- JaySean Richardson - Fr - DT
Status: The Portal was used effectively to shore us up with big bodies inside and pass rushers at the edge. Incumbents man the strong side end position, with high upside Michigan transfer Baxter ready to compete to be Camac’s successor. No reason to think this won’t be a position of strength again this year with decent health.
Linebackers
Gone:
- James Jackson - Graduate
- Trey McDonald - Transfer
- Stevie Bracey - Transfer (Buffalo)
Eligible to Return:
- Kam Robinson - Sr
- Maddox Marcellus - Se
- Caleb Hardy - Sr
- Landon Danley - RS Jr
- Myles Brown - RS So
- Isaiah Reese - RS Fr
- Justin Rowe- RS Fr
Incoming:
- Derek Uran - Fr
- Dallas Brannon - Fr
Needs: Big question here is about Kam returning our either going pro or not being back to 100% due to injury. Marcellus gives us one projected starter and Landon Danley and Myles Brown both seemed to earn coaches’ confidence in supporting roles and could be next in line, along with upperclassman converted safety Caleb Hardy who cracked the 2 deep for the ACCCG in Kam’s absence. The question becomes whether any of the freshmen (RS or true) are ready for the 2-deep in case of injury ahead of them. Even if Kam returns, at least one more veteran for the rotation would be welcome to let the youngsters breathe.
Defensive Backs
Gone:
- Antonio Clary - Graduate
- Devin Neal - Graduate
- Christian Charles - Graduate
- Da’Marcus Crosby - Graduate
- Kenan Johnson - Graduate
- Ja’son Prevard - Transfer (Kansas State)
- Emmanuel Karnley - Transfer (Washington)
- Dre Walker - Transfer (Appalachian State)
- Jordan Robinson - NFL
Eligible to Return:
- Jermarian “Jam” Jackson - RS Sr (Corner)
- Donavon Platt - RS Sr (Corner)
- Ja’Maric Morris - RS Sr (Safety)
- Ethan Minter - Jr (Safety)
- KeShawn “KeKe” Adams - RS So (Safety)
- Kevon Gray - RS So (Corner)
- Corey Costner - So (Nickel)
- Josiah Persinger - So (Corner)
- Montino Williams Jr. - So (Safety)
- Christopher Spence - RS Fr (Corner)
Incoming:
- Jalen McNair - Bonus Sr (Nickel) - Buffalo
- Christian Ellis - RS Sr (Safety) - Virginia Tech
- Patrick Campbell - RS Sr (Corner) - Dartmouth
- Jacobie Henderson - RS Sr (Corner) - Rutgers
- Brandyn Hillman - Senior (Safety) - Michigan
- Jaylen Jones - RS Jr (Safety) - Georgia State
- Justin Ross - RS Junior (Corner) - Navy
- Omillio Agard - RS Sophomore (Corner) - Wisconsin
- Alex Dunn - Fr (Corner)
- Jayden Covil - Fr (Corner)
Needs: Seven proven inbound transfers join incumbents Platt, Minter, and Costner to make a 2-deep. We’ll be looking to see if guys like Jam Jackson and Ja’Maric Morris bounce back to P4 form after their respective lost injury seasons. Additionally, a lot of young guys from the 2023 and '24 classes are entering big offseasons with a chance to compete for the rotation.
Special Teams
Gone
- LS Bryce Robinson
- KOR/PR Cam Ross
Eligible To Return
- K Will Bettridge - Bonus Sr
- P Daniel Sparks - Bonus Sr
- K Jorge Diaz Nicolas - RS Fr
- P Elijah Slibeck - RS Jr
- LS Jacob Tannenbaum - RS Fr
Incoming
- KOR Solomon Beebe - Jr - UAB
- LS Wyatt Rubinoff - Jr - New Hampshire
- PK Tim Hamann - Fr
Needs: At punter, Sparks is back plus Slibeck looked good when filling in for an injured Sparks, so we’re more than set there. At Kicker, Bettridge utilizes his waiver for a 5th season, while the pipeline includes a returning Nicolas )well rated by Kohls in last year’s class) and incoming STAB kicker Tim Hamann. Bryce Robinson was maybe the best LS in the ACC this year, underrated for his reliability, so backfilling him with Rubinoff was a big deal. Beebe was all-AAC as a KOR to replace Cam Ross, but unclear who will handle punts.
