šŸˆ 2025/26 Football Offseason Recruiting and Transfers

I know lifting isn’t the be-all, end-all of football success, but look at the legend of Beau:

A little bit of a bummer because I think he would’ve really solidified the DL. Kind of undersized for the ACC, admittedly, but good motor, and as a second stringer was probably solid enough

I’m giving mea culpa on my negativity earlier this offseason. I promise to do better. Crazy to have expectations of an 8-win season!

I also have been humbled by CFB 2026 on PS5. Year 3 of my UVA dynasty and my squad has gotten progressively worse due to my failures in talent eval and recruiting. It’s hard!

Jacquie said on 247 UVA was the one that pushed Nico’s visit, not his camp. Whether we believe that or not is another question.

For Bull Richardson (what a great nickname for a DT) he’s about as ready as John was last year. I’ve got him as the fifth DT going into camp, and likely sees time if guys ahead of him get hurt as the depth chart currently sits (not sure we ever see Tyler Simmons play a meaningful snap from scrimmage). End of the day though you really always want to be able to redshirt linemen on either side of the ball, especially interior guys where the physicality adjustment is just so great.

I have Cope tagged as in the mix for a depth chart spot at outside WR. Let’s see how the remaining WR transfer recruiting shakes out.

Hamann probably sits this year behind Bettridge. Will didn’t come back just to be beat out by a freshman.

lol I’m inclined to believe he wanted to visit Bama if they’re interested. Man, I really want him. Get him and Kent St. WR! Both!

Thank you. I wonder if Hamann has a stronger leg (assuming) but accurate if we might see him try some longer kicks or handle kickoff duties.

Remember Bettridge doesn’t kickoff anyways. Slibeck handled them last year (did fine as I recall), not sure if he’s back or not. Could absolutely be a way for Hamann to make a mark early.

With Edrine back and Flores in, both of those guys fully expecting to start, there’s really only one more spot to sell, not sure we could get both as each is a legit starting prospect at the P4 level.

He have any overlap with Trell? Would Trell be a recruiter for us even as he heads for ā€œgreenerā€ pastures?

Star Wars GIFI’m an irrational fan and I want them BOTH

nah for real though you’re probably right, I’m really sold on Nico though. Love the production.

Trell was gone by the time he got there but it cant hurt that we can point to a guy who had similar numbers at Kent State and then became an All ACC receiver here.

Vaya Con Dios. We hardly knew ye.

Rather roll with the young guys and Martin

Courtney’s third full year, that’s break out for our WRs historically. Guy can make things happen with the ball in his hands

Still have HS NSD in early Feb if there are any kids we’re still pursuing.

FWIW, Preston Willett posted on the Sabre (I had no idea he was there now, used to be at CBS19) something to the effect that he hasn’t heard anything to indicate that Platt wouldn’t be back, so take that for what it’s worth.

Unless of course there’s some US Army commitment he now has to serve as a condition of his release from the USMA?

Good landing spot for Greene.
