🏈 2025/26 Football Offseason Recruiting and Transfers

Any intel on what’s going on with Agard after those crystal balls? I realize he was just visiting Thursday. But would love that one wrapped up.

So as a whole, are we feeling like the 2026 roster is stronger or at least as strong, as 2025? I’m leaning yes.

I’d say at least as strong. You never know how all the transfers at DE and secondary will perform but certainly potential is there. I don’t think k Pribulla is as good as Chandler for our offense but he can certainly win us plenty of game.

So the Portal Entry Window closed at midnight so at least we shouldn’t see any more outbounds. So that’s good at least.

Word is Marcus Freeman is not going to the NFL after he found out they make teams play their games after they are eliminated from the playoffs.

I think we’re on par from last year, maybe a half step back at a couple of positions where I have questions on health and/or depth, like DT, TE, and LB. I’ll hold my breath on the transfer QBs, and while I really like the RBs we got this year I think J’mari Taylor was the best we’ve had in a decade.

Jerome’s hot take of the offseason coming…

Pribula will be better for this offense next year than Chandler Morris was. I would probably feel different had Chandler not been banged up but when the threat of his legs left (for the most part) it really hamstrung our offense. It’s why I scoffed at all QB options that aren’t a threat to run. I think BP is going to put up big rushing numbers and do enough passing to make our offense potent

Assume this means Platt is back.

Also didn’t we have a few OL like Witmer who have eligibility if they want it? Wouldn’t hate as much depth as possible and even though Witmer wasn’t great, it’s nice to have his experience

I’ve got Platt in a bucket with Witmer, Sipe, Kam Robinson, and Caleb Hardy as “not transferring but also not 100% confident they come back.” They all may just be done with college football after long careers and not want to play further as graduate students. Kam is the exception obviously in that he may still be exploring draft options pending his medical outlook.

On paper on par with last year with a potentially higher ceiling if it all clicks and and everyone is healthy.

Yeah health to some key players will be the crux of reaching our ceiling. Mixed bag with injuries last year. OL injuries came and went, was big to have Brady Wilson back from his injury and the IOL healthy down the stretch, but the Tackle positions never really stabilized. QB played banged up. RB lost depth though Taylor and Waylee were enough when it mattered. Big loss of Twitty at TE. DL health all year long was a total miracle. Kam’s loss at LB was big. DBs actually had a pretty good year health-wise after the couple of off-season losses like Jam.

Kam’s knee and Chandler’s shoulder kept the season from being a playoff one. But I have a hard time crying about injuries too much as overall it could’ve been and has been so much worse

Gotta wait and see on injuries, unfortunately. I feel like last year’s O-line had the potential to be better, but was so wracked with injuries that it didn’t get there.

Would love to see if Makilan Thomas and Monroe Mills are 100% early enough to get in a lot of off-season reps and shake off the rust.

Also still curious what happens with positional slotting. Assuming Metcalf moves back to C? Josey will play LG because always… Who plays RG? Do one of the Tackles move inside? Or do we promote from within, maybe Hartsoe or Ellinger or even Surber? Thomas, listed at 6-3 / 315 last year, is more “built” like a guard than the taller Mills (6-7 / 320) and Boley (5-5 / 316) and the lighter York (6-5 / 305) or Witmer (6-7 / 306).

I thought Hardy announced he was coming back. Maybe I imagined it.

Yea injuries are part of football and one of thoae things you can’t always control. I thought the team made chicken salad out of what they were given.

Think we landed another DB or S. JF is alluding to it

I’m not ready to feel good about the DLine until I see it on the field.
