Courtney was the name floated a couple of weeks ago but everything will be known soon.
Wouldnāt want to lose any of Robinson, Newton-Short, or Abdullah. All have huge upside.
I think weāre inevitably gonna lose one of either Courtney or Abdullah, and my guess would be itās Courtney. Our staff really, really likes Josiah.
Would rather keep Abdullah. Higher ceiling imo.
Offseason success starts with retaining as much as we can on both lines. We have lots of guys that are either underclassmen or have extra eligibility to create a really strong foundation
If they really, really liked Abdullah then they probably shouldāve played him.
Robinson and DNS arenāt going anywhere. Abdullah is definitely a risk because he was a highly recruited kid buried on the depth chart.
Our DL and OL upgrades this year helped us tremendously. Allowed QB1 and RB1 to have a chance. AC was a 175lb tackling dummy last year.

Honestly I would love that CFP banner in the stadium.

Wait, is this true?

He started his career as a walk on and has now earned a scholarship as of recent years. Iād imagine heās also getting paid a little
Wait, you mean that terrible graphic doesnāt reflect accuracy and truth?
You stated my feelings on this team better than I could and certainly more positively.
The second part is where my negativity shines. Iām a lot more bear-ish on the future than sounds like most folks.
He was a true freshman and we had one of the better WR rooms in the ACC. Completely reasonable to want to preserve his redshirt and let him develop a bit more in the weight room, especially given heās not the biggest guy in the world.
If he transfers out after one season I wouldnāt put that on the coaching staff.
Wouldnāt mind as we start to rebuild the RB room

Turbo Richard from BC also entered. Heās really good and I think we recruited him a little out of HS despite not offering.
I mainly disagree, but I donāt think Elliottās a bad coach who needs to be replaced or anything. Heās fine as our HC. We could potentially do better, but would risk that coach using us as a stepping stone, but we could very well do much worse in terms of results or personality.
I think heās a solidly average P4 head coach. He wins if he has talent, but loses when at a significant talent disadvantage. He doesnāt offer a superior game strategy or offensive/defensive innovation, but not many college coaches do (these guys tend to be hired by NFL teams). He depends on the ability of his assistants. Heās made some good assistant hires and some where we canāt immediately judge value from the outside Not hiring a dedicated special teams coach seems to be an ongoing bad decision.
Heās built a strong culture and appears to be a very good leader and motivator. That helps with talent retention and can elevate the play level above the talent level to some degree. He seems to have very good character and is a great representative of UVA His leadership through the shooting and the aftermath was strong.
But he hasnāt shown me any ability to be great by overachieving above talent level or raising the talent level above expectations through higher level recruiting or jumps in player performance once in the program. Thatās fine though.
