I wouldn’t be that ticked at the NCAA decision except for the sneaking suspicion that within the next couple of years the rules will be changed and he would have been eligible. Just feels like everything is moving that direction. But we may miss out on what could have been a special season as a result.
I like Odom. Seems dynamic. Think he could succeed with our hypothetical run game and like 1 more contributing receiver. Plus a couple years of eligibility.
Trying to will Conner Weigman into existence.
Time to back channel
He’s listed at 6’4 too. Not sure if that’s accurate but he’s definitely not short and can see over the line
Speros followed him around the opening of the portal, it’s been said he’s coming back to Houston but neither he nor the school has posted anything (they’ve been doing the retention edits for guys they’ve signed just as we have), Houston has the #1 player on the country coming in at QB and their fans expect Weigman to mentor him until he ultimately wins the job this season. It would just make a lot of sense for both parties.
I just irrationally (?) believe the staff was anticipating this but waiting on it, have a plan, and we will have a good QB option by the end of the weekend.
Jake Retzlaff would have been another name like this, though his off the field stuff at BYU doesn’t leave the best feeling, and is probably not a match for us. Devon Dampier would be another good option.
I liked the Mercer qb we reached out! Not sure how interested we are
I think there’s a 0% chance we’d take Retzlaff
Like dampier but I bet Utah is placing a premium on keeping him with the weird offseason they’ve had. Plus if Underwood leaves Michigan they would be clear favorites for Dampier I’d imagine.
Portal pick up for Miami

And it looks like he beat me to the punch!
If Pop Watson is our plan, someone tell me why that should excite me more than Amari Odom or just waiting for another guy? Feels uunderwhelming.
It’s not our plan. Watson news is trolling.
Good to know which accounts to ignore on twitter ig. Annoying.
Last time we had a QB who had run that system prior to playing for Elliott and Kitchings, it worked horribly.
While I’m happy we’re loading up on good RB’s, is the plan to implement the wishbone next year?
At least there is quality if not quantity - from @Hoosknowsbest:
Fobbs-White 68.3 - Low 4 star
Peyton Lewis 76.0 - High 4 star
J. Henderson 59.7 - High 2 star
Middlebrook 78.0 - High 4 star
Ellis 64.1 grade High 3 star
Larry 84.3 High 4 star
Anyanwu 63.5 Mid 3 star
Beebe 77.2 High 4 star
One more:
College football has changed so much and many people say for the better but I disagree. Here are my 5 reasons:
1. All 4 QBs in the semis are transfers
2. Ole Miss and Indiana are portal programs who do not and will not develop any HS talent.
3. 1/2 of the rosters of the losing teams will leave by Saturday despite having a historical season.
4. Absolutely zero loyalty to the brotherhood that comes along with team sports.
5. Seeing a player stay multiple years at the same place has became a rarity when it should be the norm.
College football needs a lot of work.
