Impressive. I have been a vocal skeptic of Miami, but a great win for them, obviously. Maybe there was an element of letdown after the big Duke win?

Maybe itās cope, but I told a good friend of mine at the beginning of the season that I sensed this team plays to its competition. We have been at our worst playing bad teams and havenāt been blown out by-- or have beaten ā good teams. We will get a chance to test that hypothesis on Saturday on national television. Quad 1 win, and some additional validation on the line. Go Hoos!

crazy enough this might get Hubert fired. He was more important on that team maybe than anybody on any team. Wouldnāt be surprised to see them crash out.

Selfishly it is annoying heās hurt for their games against Clemson, Louisville, and second games against Duke and NC State. Theyāre not going to give us any help down the ACC stretch after handing us a loss. Guess we just need to be thankful they knocked Duke down once.

Depends on what the rest of the year loooks like. They are all really just looking for any sort of excuse to fire him down there. If Wilson is out the rest of the year and they struggled down the stretch limp into the tournament and loosen the first round it would not surprise me at all.
I could see itā¦ they would seriously have to flame out the rest of the season though. Which is possibleā¦
Legitimately what do you think their record would have to be for UNC to entertain that for their last 7 Conference games? 2-5, 0-1 in the ACC Tournament & First Round exit in the NCAAs?
Yeah, I feel like if they go 2-5, exit in the quarters, first round exit there is a very good chance he is gone, even if it is unfair. Maybe they would be worried about the backlash when they were obviously a good team with him. Would be fascinating to see. Their fans on Inside Carolina say that he was everything and it was unimaginable what the team would look like without him, and that was before he got hurt.

Wilson being down for the season is huge not just because of the loss of production there but the PG spot gets the most heat for being weak but they really donāt have depth there. Like Hubert spent a lot of this seasonās offense looking more like a Roy Williams team with a lot of 4 to 5 passing or big on big screens. All of that changes when you go from Wilson to moving Stevenson up to 4 or maybe even having to get High more in the rotation.
Wilson getting hurt turns UNC into a completely different team and it looks a lot more like a Pete Nance at the 4 kind of squad.

Seems like a Jacari injury so he should be back for the ncaa tournament though perhaps not at 100%

I think the biggest difference though is Jacari White is allowed to be bad and his team can still win given heās a piece in a 9 man rotation. He was back in 24 days (12/20-1/13) but really didnāt do anything of note until 1/31 BC game and didnāt look like his old self until Saturday (2/7) and his best self on Tuesday (2/10).
If heās got a similar path back to production, UNC has to carry a heavy load without him deep into March.

I looked at it the completely other wayā¦ they are the only team of those mentioned we couldnāt get the tiebreaker over (minus Clemson, but whatever). Iād rather teams that have the tiebreaker over us tumble down the standings.
Is it his offhand like Jacari / Kihei?

Weāve got a 2 game lead on them in the loss column with one more game played, I think they were far more valuable to us as a spoiler to the teams they havenāt played yet.
