I really donā€™t mind the behavior from fan sites, but doing it from an ostensibly neutral journalistic perch really rubs me the wrong way. I could be a little too precious about it though.

As long as we are piling on him, he has always struck me as someone whoā€™s best skill as a sports journalist is sucking up to the people he needs to suck up to. And the UVa fanbase is not something he thinks he needs to suck up to!

Canā€™t quite replicate that on Torvik (at least on the page that would give stats by conference), but filtering non-con games to Q2 or better gets close: Verifying Browser...

I sorted by WAB because that schedule-adjusts the W-L record, and that gives:

  1. Big 12: +0.7
  2. ACC: +0.2
  3. SEC: +0.03
  4. Big 10: +0.01
  5. Big East: -0.25

Clemson is probably safe, but if they lose to Louisville and UNC, beating GT only leaves them around +1.3 WAB at the end of the season, which would currently be #42. A first-round ACCT loss would make them very bubbly in that situation.

Now they are more likely to go 2-1 (or better) than 1-2 (or worse) to end the season but itā€™s not a sure thing.
