Northwestern is dominating Michigan in the first half lol

Michigan should just end their season now, good teams don’t trail to mediocre teams on the road. Blowout incoming.

Also Iowa dropped one against Maryland.

Maryland jumped 17 spots on kenpom from that one game

Maybe that will motivate Buzz to buy a computer

Sitting on the couch with COVID watching college basketball and seeing Maryland, Syracuse, VT win and NW beating Michigan. Is it all just a fever dream???

Parody account but still funny

Northwestern blew a 16 point lead in the second half. Up 4 with 9 min to go.

I know I can be very negative in the game threads and it can be unpleasant for other posters here. I just really care about this team being good, and have a hard time when those expectations don’t meet reality, as you’ve seen over the past few weeks, especially when this is one of my only personal outlets right now. I’m really trying to work on it, but I’ve found it to be harder than expected. So for those of you that have given me grace over the years (@Jerome youve really been a saint here) I thank you and promise that I’m really trying to handle this better. But for those that can’t let it go, I’d just really encourage you to use the ignore button. It’s not that hard, and if you don’t it just says to me that you’d rather complain and pick on other posters for days on end than solve whatever problem you have

Things are going great at KState

ā€œThese dudes do not deserve to wear this uniform,ā€ Tang said. ā€œThere will be very few of them in it next year. I’m embarrassed for the university. I’m embarrassed for our fans and our student section. It is just ridiculous.ā€

Coach Tang might be one of those dudes who isn’t in KState colors next year too.

You’d think so but he got a massive extension after the Nowell run and his buyout is like $18m… that’s pretty steep for basketball in a non-P2 conference.

Only goes down about $3m each year, so it probably does turn into a financial consideration of how much support can they lose keeping him, but they obviously gave him resources last year and this one. The book certainly looks like it’s been written on him.

It’s incredible what has happened to some of the guys that left his program.. the K-State refugee program has been great for us, so I kind of hope he sticks around so we can keep grabbing his mistakes and turning them into contributors.

I personally come to LRA for the wide range of opinions and the disagreements/fights! It’s great to hear what this group of sickos thinks and it’s entertaining and healthy to hear different viewpoints.

Despite me and @DFresh11 being right about everything all the time, I love reading about how our team and their performance is viewed differently amongst a passionate fanbase.

Also….. Taine>Rohde.

Yeah I’m going to do a better job of hitting ignore on those that make the experience less enjoyable to me. I’d like to think I’m not close minded - happy to have debate with those that are thoughtful or open to debate.

I will not tolerate harassment though. Lines can be crossed from debate into personal, creepy and downright harassment. Thank you the common sense of whoever removed those two posts directed at me earlier this morning that crossed that line.

Apologies if I crossed that line for anyone at any point. I recognize it takes two to tango. Things don’t escalate on their own.

I’ve decided to answer my own question after more thought. If the drafts were combined knowing what we knew at the time I would go: Flagg, DP (talent only, don’t know how to judge the other stuff), Dybantsa, prooobably Boozer, Harper, Wilson, Bailey (again talent only). Could swap the Harper-Bailey-Wilson group around several ways I think.

Then there’s like 5-10 more guys I’d probably take before Johnson at the 6th pick last year.

I’m really excited for the draft coverage this year. Such a fun class.

I’d take Flagg then Wilson - because the evidence I see is love for the game will give them energy to work harder than everybody else - like Kobe.

For this year, I would have had DP first but he’s giving me Michael Beasley maturity vibes. Without the drugs and DUI. Wouldn’t trust him to be a franchise guy.

In a weaker draft you take DP’s talent over anyone else but when you have 3-4 other potential all stars its a hard pill to swallow.

Dybantsa first this year. Flagg clear first in either year.

Probably took a lot to type this. Props man. We’re all just people trying our best. No one should be an asshole of course, but also no one should be hard on themselves.

I’m guessing if all us weirdos watched a game in the same room together it would be a totally different dynamic and we’d all have a great time. Good reminder (for me) to get outside, meet new people, and figure out stuff to do locally.

I’m not quite as worried about Peterson, as long as the medical stuff is fine. Jalen Johnson had a really weird Duke year and has turned out to be an otherwise outstanding pro.

I am far more neurotic on text-based communications than I am in person. You would never know my pessimism in the room with me, but my group texts and board posts are not pleasant. Baseball playoff games when I have time to fire off all of my deepest concerns between pitches are a real annoyance to my friends.

This season has also been strange for me because I am so used to a 5-10 point deficit being insurmountable under the late Bennett offenses and gameplans, and I haven’t adjusted to our new way of doing things. I think I am improving though and kept pretty zen (relatively) during the FSU game until the very end because we have now seen that exact movie several times this year. (My two exceptions in FSU were whenever they threw a different defensive look at us and we had no answer and the Sam Lewis inbounds bobble which both made me have first half Notre Dame style meltdowns. My apologies for those. I still think both were quite bad though.)

I do get a little annoyed by the positivity police though. Just ignore me if it bothers you. I don’t feel like I am going too far out of bounds with any of my comments. And I’m genuinely not trying to troll either. I am just pretty neurotic about sports.

I do think I probably had Flagg first because I was considering his makeup and intensity (especialyl on defense) while discounting the perceived lack of it in guys like DP.

DP is an absolutely insane talent, I really hope the injury stuff is both real and minor and has a an insane NBA career. But there is starting to be so many incidents that you’d be stupid to bet your franchise on it. If every health thing is totally legitimate, you also probably need to knock him a bit for durability concerns too.

Boozer is the one I have the hardest time with. He could be an awesome offensive centerpiece with solid defense, but he could also prove to be just a little less athletic than he needs to be to dominate at the next level. Also hard to measure his defensive contributions super accurately because he is usually paired with another very good defensive big. Flagg I was sure would be a good defender.
