Gonzaga doesn’t count - they keep continuity - beat some good teams early before they have gelled because no continuity then breeze through a bunch of low-mid majors
Wrong! The correct answer is that we suck. I’ve seen the posts from that FSU game, so I know.
My son lost my black hoodie that was the benefit for the 3 football players after the murders. I was so sad. You don’t have one of those, do you?
Let’s get this back for you. @Merch might have some ideas. Go ‘Hoos
This would be a dream
At the same time I have a stress response seeing us as a 4 seed, especially with a purple 13 seed lol
Yeah….. I’m scared of UConn.
Thanks! It would be amazing if someone could dig one up!

Ohio state felt like the last gate to clear (or basically just one of them, Miami, Duke, or NC State) for true lock status.
I’m curious now what our realistic seed range is now. It feels like the top 3 seeds are out of range with our schedule barring a win against Duke (we can do it!), and I can’t see us falling much lower than a 6 seed. 4 and 5 are basically the same seed for all intents and purposes, so weirdly not a ton of tournament implications to play for right now.
Still control our destiny for the ACC, but that feels like a real tightrope walk. And it seems like a top 4 (and even top 3) ACCT seed is pretty sewn up.
From what I can tell Duke is basically the only game left on the schedule with a ton of outcome leveraged on it. That’s a little reductive obviously, but it does feel that way.
Dukes always a big game, but this one feels extra high leverage compared to what’s around it.
I will be recovering from (minor) surgery during that game because I was a fool and didn’t schedule better, so I can’t wait to rip a stitch over a Thijs-Boozer officiating dispute. Even odds my loved ones ban me from watching the rest of the game live after the first 5 minutes.
I don’t know. If we win out except Duke + drop one in the ACCT that’s only 5 losses. I think that’s 3 seed material. That scenario would also almost certainly mean we’ve been playing closer to our ceiling, which would mean we’d be moving up the analytics.
To be honest the “how many wins/losses would it take for X” is almost secondary because the wins and losses are downstream of how we’ve been playing and how we’ve been playing is going to impact our tourney seeding moreso than W/L record in a vacuum
I think 4-2 or 3-3 are most likely finishes unless we level up our play a bit.
Miami, NC St, and VT can all beat us if our offense is in its current form. All it takes is a good shooting day for any of them and it will be nail biter at best for us. I think 1-2 in these games is just as likely as 3-0, but I’d bet on 2-1.
Wakes season is over and GT is literally the worst team in the conference so I’m banking on 2 wins. Duke seems like a pretty sure loss but a close loss could actually help us in the metrics.
I think we’re a lock for a 4 seed at 27-4. Lock for a 5 seed at 26-5. 6 seed at 25-6. Hopefully don’t need to consider worse finishes than that.
The resume metrics gap between the top 12 and the rest of the field is significant right now, and we just have very few opportunities to jump up there and most of these teams have several.
Agreed there are some confounding variables in there that make it hard to really map out, but I think it would be difficult to catch up to a 3 seed even if we win all the games we’re favored in.
I’d bet 4-2. I think we go 1-1 against NC State and Miami, lose to Duke, and win the rest.
If we let Tech come into JPJ and win after that last one I will be very very upset, so I’m not entertaining the thought (I’m willing a big Chance game where he puts Hammond in prison defensively and drops 15+ to establish himself as a hokie killer for the next 4 years). For similar reasons I think NC state will have a good game against us. I’m also a little worried about the pageantry being a distraction with Miami.
But I do think we can beat Duke! Cameron is basically a second tier euro gym. Our guys should feel super at home there.
Good point on the gap. Honestly I just really hope we see a strong finish which would get me more excited about a potential run in the tourney whether that’s 4 or 3 seed (not saying it’s not possible as a 5 seed or if we keep playing as we have been, just that it’s more likely). If we finish strong I’d feel good about some of the 1 vs 4 match-ups.
I’m not so sure that Duke is a sure loss. I’m excited to see TDR’s physicality against Boozer. If the refs let them play it could be a gritty game (okay, given that statement I should walk this back).
That said, I do think we need to win 2 of 3 against Miami, Duke and NC State to be in the 4 seed convo. And win out the others. Win at Duke and we’ve got a shot at the 3 seed based on ACCT.
We keep winning. I’m still going to be bull-ish on this team until we fail to do that.
It seems like I am the only person who thinks we will beat Miami and State.
Miami doesn’t make 3s, and we have the size to matchup defensively inside. Keep them in the 60s or lower 70s and we win.
State has the worst defense in the league (yet had the Miami game won without size) and are very inconsistent. Making 3s is the only way they win. As Will Wade said, “We are soft. We are a jump-shooting team and are soft.”
We are at home and are going to win. We can’t let the fans down again. Defend homecourt!
I am optimistic.
I feel confident we will beat Miami and NC State as well, but unfortunately we will lose to Georgia Tech.
I do not. All my gear from back in the day disappeared and I see it on friends now from time to time ha
I see 4-2 coming home. Split w Miami and State (see them as the more likely L), lose to Duke.
