We also jumped from 19 to 11 on EvanMiya

Chance is up to 26th on EvanMiya as well.

The NET jump v Kenpom jump is interesting but kinda fits into my mental model: Kenpom is much more adjusted / NET is much less adjusted.

So the fact that we whooped them is more important in Kenpom which thinks NC state is really good. For the NET it’s just another whooping which we’ve already a fair amount of.

Also, Florida State just dropped eight spots with that loss to Miami so that is no longer a quad one win for us

NCAA actually keeps this stat: https://www.ncaa.com/stats/basketball-men/d1/current/team/1284

Clemson just ahead of us with 30.64 per game, we are at 29.11 per game. Current through Monday’s games.

Damn - Buckner’s kid is nice

Wait Nick Davidson doesn’t start for them??

We lost him for a bench spot??

It’s also less clustered the higher up you go. We gained over a point in defensive efficiency and moved up one spot. If we made the same 1.1 point jump from 100th we would’ve moved up nearly 20 spots to ~ 82/83. I assume reverse is true for NC State only falling a couple spots.

CTB: “Lakers, I have your backup point guard of the future, but full disclosure, he is 5’9”."

Interestingly, Dave and I were talking about this a little while ago. I was surprised to learn that with the women this year it works the other way.

The top 4-5 women’s teams are tightly bunched, then a small drop off to literally the next 25 or so teams who are also tightly bunched. Then once you get into the 30s (where UVA women are), the decline gets much chunkier with bigger gaps between teams. Which is how UVA somehow only moved up 1 spot despite beating a top-10 team on the road.

“Tony Bennett hasn’t said no” to a Los Angeles-area team finally came true in its own way

What’s his hourly rate like?

My takeaway from his appearance on the broadcast on Tony Bennett Day is that he might be accepting payment in the form of Old Fashioneds.

This is wild to me

So is this remote like he’s staying in Cville? Or Bennetts are headed to LA?!

It’s only for the NBA draft so even if he goes out there he probably wouldn’t bet there very long. I bet he’s involved for the interview process of these kids.

So are the Lakers gonna use a second round pick on McKneely?

In seriousness, we’ve all acknowledged that Tony still has an eye for talent, so it’ll be interesting to see if the Lakers drafts suddenly get better.

And I guess there’s maybe less variance toward the top of the NET than there is at the bottom. NC St drops one spot for a 30 point loss, but FSU drops 8 spots for a 10 point loss.

LA strikes me as absolutely the least CTB-comfortable major city in the US, so I can’t imagine they’d move. On the other hand, he’s gotta be getting bored by now and not only are the Lakers an awful defensive team, with Luka and LeBron its hard to imagine any way in which they might get better. So, an interesting challenge. On IG, folks were wondering if Pelinka’s seat is warm.

Get that bag, Tony. The Lakers currently only have their first round pick which will be late first round.
