Dont wanna be that guy. But feels like thats ball game

We needed that! Still alive

I like Gabby a whole lot, but it’s hard to play a guard this much who doesn’t have range beyond layups.

Now that feels like ball game.

Fitting the end the game with no play call and tossing the ball away.

4th quarter offense has been slow and without energy

Their offense was almost as good as the 2019–20 men’s offense

We needed that one. We’d dropped to ā€œFirst Four Outā€ per ESPN after the last loss. Only two remaining games against ranked teams, and we’re pretty good, yet we’re probably also only going to be favored in 3-4 games the rest of the way.

We’re going to need to win all the ones we’re favored in, plus 3-4 more, to make the tournament. I’m a lot less confident that’s going to happen, which will put Mox squarely on the hot seat. This should be a good team, and its certainly the best Coach Mox team, but I’m not sure its good enough.

We still have a lot of opportunities to impress, but at this point I wouldn’t bet on us making the NCAAT. And given the Ohanian donation, and the talent on this team, that’s a clear failure.

If that happens, Mox will have earned the hot seat. Wonder how quick Carla will be to pull the trigger though. Probably will give her another season, and then there’s a chance we have a hometown all-star on our team for 4 years without ever making the tourney.

This is her window, though. Perfect off-season. Football is humming for now. Baseball and MBB looking very promising under new coaches. We’re not paying buyouts really to anyone at this point, thanks to the natures of BOC’s and TB’s departures and Elliott figuring things out for the moment at least. Even our headline Olympic programs like swimming are humming.

Point being, Carla has no other coaching positions to worry about right now. Wait a year and maybe there’s new distractions. I say strike now. Can’t find much of any contract info for her, though, but I assume she’s basically finishing up her original contract either this year or next. Shouldn’t cost much to let her go.

Tammi Reiss, this is a straightforward decision. 15-2 (6-0) so far this year at URI.

I know we have the perception that Carla is hesitant or holds on to poor coaches, but I don’t thing that’s the case. She’s proven to be pretty shrewd with this stuff. She wasted no time moving on from Ron despite having a relationship there and the football staff knew what their mission was this past season.

You nailed it on timing as well, probably more cash on hand heading into this offseason than we’ve had in a while and no dead money from contracts on the books. One thing Carla does well is bring in the money and after the Ohanian donation, I don’t think she wants that or similar ones to be a one and done thing.

Mox has to make the tournament this year or she will not be coaching in Charlottesville next season.

Just can’t win with Mo as the best player - too small and unathletic and is a liability on D - struggles to get shots off in high leverage moments against top 20 teams with length.

We have money now. If there is a coaching change (still hoping Mox pulls it off but growing doubt) there is only one name
