Did he run into his old pal Tess?
Get him on the sideline!
quite true. He was very, very quick and shot a back step set shot if you can believe that. Probably told this story but at the last game at U-Hall all the former players outlined the court, they gave a ball to the guy at the very end and everyone handed it to the guy to the left where it made its way around finally to Ralph who would dunk it. Tony was at half court and I was to the left of him. After he gave it to me, I told him I was afraid it would stop with him because he was unguarded so I figured he would shoot it. BTW, Ralph missed the dunk (got it on the second try).
Anyone know how many minutes he averaged at Bilbao? 9.3 points in 38 minutes is different than 9.3 in 18 minutes⦠just curious!
20.7 minutes per game.
From those stats, Thijs shot 50.2% from the field, 39.1% from three point range, and 81% from the line. Those are some nice looking numbers.
Itās become a pet peeve that they only include the regular season in De Ridderās stats. Maybe thatās common in Euro basketball, I donāt know. In 16 Euro Cup games for Bilbao, he played a little more and had slightly better stats which raises his full season averages to 10.1 points 5.0 rebounds per game.
Hereās his Europe Cup stats. He was the leading scorer
Couldnāt find where you were posting about Brian Geisinger⦠heās my brother in law. He grew up in Winston-Salem and graduated from NC State. Anyway he told me heās going to have some breakdowns of Odomās stuff coming out before the season. Heās been a big supporter of UVA over the years.
Thatās great! Have enjoyed his work. He did a lot of solid X/O type write-ups on us in the last 5 years or so.
His first one for Basket Under Review Under on Maliq Brown was a good read. I probably posted it in the ACC thread, I think
Will look forward to the one on Odom
I like Proballers a little better for international stats, though the autoplay ads with sound on each page are pretty annoying.

Ad blocker ftw
Yeah, back when the ACC Sports Journal published an annual ACC basketball magazine, he was early on board as a believer in T. B. The other 2 were UNC homers. I always enjoyed his writing and analysis. I still wish they published an actual magazine (vs online subscription stuff.)
Shaver was Odomās coach at Hampden Sydney, and of course had a long tenure at W&M after that:

De Ridderās agency had a little JPJ tour video on IG (the camera work made me slightly nauseated):
The āhopeless placeā being the current state of UVA athletics (the ones I actually watch before someone hits me with a UVA title in horse jumping for this year). A Plus song choice
Never heard of this site before but Google pushed this at me and thought it was an interesting read, with some interesting numbers and stats included as well:
How is hoops in a hopeless place? Feel better about basketball than I have in quite some time
Itās not that serious
