Rumor over in Miss State land that LSU is making a late push to poach Ace Reese, State’s top returnign player, at the last minute before the portal closes.
Juiciest part of the rumor is that Reese and Henry Ford are on the same team in the Cape Cod League and Ford is allegedly in his ear pushing the portal.
Most State fans are doing the nothing to see here thing, but I’m hoping it drags out until the deadline just to make things uncomfortable to them.

If there’s anything I gained out of the O’Connor situation it’s a disdain for their fanbase, they fuckin suck and remind me so much of VT.

Can’t share anything meaningful. He’s a great kid. Deserves shot to play at UVA or somewhere else if that’s what he decides. He’s in CVille now playing for the Tom Sox this summer.

I honestly don’t think Oak fully realized what he was signing up for. Sure, MSU has great resources but so does literally every SEC school and most kids would much rather spend time in Knoxville, Baton Rouge, Athens, etc. A lot of the kids he got to UVa genuinely wanted to be at a place like UVA. I don’t think they’ll give a damn about MSU other than what they’re getting paid so it’ll be a renegotiation with every player every offseason.

He’s going to get eaten alive in the new SEC. Look at the ahole coaches that run that league at UT, Tenn, Vandy, Florida, etc. His former mentor Mainieri dominated at LSU in the old college sports era and is now getting pummeled in the new era. I’m guessing BOC tries to act more vocal and macho to keep up with them but it’s going to be too contrived to be effective. I’ll give it 5 years max.

There’s nothing to confirm it yet on his socials, but OF Lamar Edwards is now showing up as part of our 2025 HS class on Perfect Game. Would be another Duke flip, #74 overall player in the class which typically signals a draft risk but I haven’t seen him pop up on any rankings.

Heard pretty recently that Perrotta was looking like a return.
Before that, things were not looking great on Moore based on the most recent update I heard. Maybe a week ago?

I know we still could use another catcher but I think our position players are looking pretty good. I still think we could really use an experienced weekend starter like Moore or Blanco so the first years can be eased in.

I would add to it and say catcher, sure fire starter, and one more LHP even if the sure fire starter is also a LHP.
