The Jeff Banks (or Duke Miles) of UVA baseball.
A guy can get up to 150k. I think it’s more likely a UDFA gets 1K. Hell, some draft picks sign for bonuses like 1K, 5K or 15K.
A guy who still has eligibility left is going to go for closer to 150k
Maybe, maybe not. If he was in higher demand, someone would’ve picked him in rounds 11-20. And eligibility isn’t worth much for a guy who already has his degree and would have to pay to go to school.
How much would someone have to pay you to play pro baseball instead of racking up another 50k in debt and do schoolwork for a degree you might not even want for another year of college baseball? Or even to buy you out of a scholarship and 0 debt or income? Especially knowing that this time next year you’ll just be a year older and looking at a senior sign bonus. It’d be far less than 150k for me and teams aren’t stupid and for some reason really stingy about small amounts of draft/international signing bonuses that are rounding errors for what they pay their superstars.
I think Perotta will surprise this year. My expectations are lofty.
Names fly around so fast in baseball haha. Talk to me on Hartman… I know basically nothing but I had Augustin as the (if healthy) closer.
I’ll take a stab; I think Stroman will surprise. I had gotten the impression from reading his comments that he’s not wanted to focus only on pitching. I feel like this is why he’s been committed to take the collegiate option and therefore teams were afraid to draft him. I’ve also plugged in Didawick but I’m not sure he will return. If he returns, I could also see him potentially batting second, third or fourth (depending upon a return of his power). I would imagine Jackson, Enis, Holmes, and Edwards are going to compete for playing time in the outfield with both Aiden and Sam also being options. Tiroly will probably push for a starting position in the infield.
- Gracia (CF)
- Stroman (RF)
- Becker, E. (SS)
- Harris, S. (1st)
- Harris, A (3rd)
- Perotta (DH)
- Murray (2nd)
- Didawick (LF)
- Weatherspoon (C)
This is an just my uneducated but fun attempt.
I still find it hard to believe didawick is coming back.
Hartman was one of the top available relievers on the portal market. At Western Kentucky this past season he went 5-1 with a 2.70 ERA in 22 appearances and 53.1 IP. Had 62 K’s, gave up 22 walks, 34 hits and a BAVG of .180. Not a very big guy, only 5’10 211 lbs but has a low 90’s fastball and a really good changeup.
I’m not sure if he’ll be the official ‘closer’ or not, I just expect him to get a lot of innings out of the pen.
I expect his pitch tools and repertoire may be better utilized as a setup option but we shall see.
Not exactly sure what this is….

Looks interesting…
Seems to be some sort of program/app/workout routine for pitcher arm health. 450 bucks a head a year, but you can get 100 bucks off and there’s a team package for maybe a bulk discount and maybe they cut us a deal for letting them make this announcement, getting our endorsement and using our logo.
Seems like a low investment win-win for everyone.
Probably something they were using at Duke prior to coming over.
There was a Duke P’s endorsement on their site. Makes sense.
So about Harrison??

D2 Transfer / LHP / Looks proven on that level
Staff is following but not sure if it’s recent or old.
Across the various assistants, it seems like they’ve been following every uncommitted pitcher in the portal over the last week.
Stipp looks to be a new follow of Coach Simmons as of this morning though.
Son, that should be “Coach Pollard”
