Yeah the talk from Robertson has been that BOC wants us to be 25 + 5%, which would put us on relatively equal footing with most top of the line programs and our administration may not be willing to commit to that. It is much more than a minor detail, if we can’t get close to matching that commitment it’s highly likely we’re gonna fall behind in baseball no matter how much magic BOC can cook up via his pedigree and coaching acumen.
But as you said, that article does give hope if the part about getting elite support is true. ‘Elite’ would suggest a revenue share comparable to SEC schools which is all I think BOC wants. If our athletic department shows that they’re committed to giving BOC and his staff the proper resources to remain a program that is competitive enough to win a national title then he’ll remain our coach.
Yeah I was mainly meaning minor as in minor concern UVA won’t be ready, not minor concern for the sport overall haha. College baseball is, IMO anyways, very much a haves and have nots sport and this program is one of the most supported in the entire country. I think the issue here sorts itself and no worries.
Gonna put postseason talk in this thread for the next two days. As mentioned before, selection show for the NCAAT is tomorrow at noon and currently D1 has UVA as the first team out after some bid stealers won their conference tournaments.
We need to be rooting very hard for UCLA and UC Irvine to win today.
Nebraska now up 5-0 in the 8th over UCLA. If this result holds it would push us down another spot, there’s no telling where we are on the committee’s cut line as it stands but these bid stealers certainly don’t help. D1 still has us as the first team out in their latest bracket projection.
They’ve already stated they were going to take uva not playing fsu into consideration. I think they said that so there wouldn’t be much flack putting UVA in. I don’t see them keeping such a big program out of it
