If I had to guess we’ll probably want Yoder to start a game since we have 3 more to win out. Obviously that could change if things need it but I wouldn’t think he’d come out of the pen if things are going our way tomorrow afternoon

Little Rock leads Jax State 6-3 through 6 complete.
8-4 in B8 now.
What gives me solace is that we beat up Southern Miss’ best two pitchers today. If it’s Jax State, they saved their Friday starter.
Of course without Johnson and, potentially, Becker, that makes it tougher.

Umpires can have such an ego complex. Most criticism and hatred for officials in sports is unwarranted but they really earn it when they’re assholes.

Southern Miss guys were allowed to talk and showboat during their HR trots — oh, and take group pictures. Bullshit all around. Tone was set with this crew when Pollard got tossed for asking a clarifying question in the first game

well one team is still playing while the other couldnt win a game on their home field so they got theirs. pretty embarassing to be showboating like that while losing. but i suppose now they get to wile away the rest of the weekend in lovely hattiesburg, the “paris of the south” i think they call it.
but it sucks to be down two players against the team that whipped you just two days before.

I hate to say that Becker shouldn’t play, and I guess shouldn’t say that. But Holmes has showed up and is hot right now after having to be inserted with the injury (granted more of a liability in the field). I just think they’re going to nickel and dime us and we have to be able to generate offense. If Becker is anything less than 100% I’d say play Holmes.
Holmes is 5/7 at the plate with 6 runs scored, an RBI, and only 1 K. Plus a right-handed batter against one of their 2 remaining lefty weekend starters.
