Becker was taking groundballs pregame yesterday and entered the game defensively in the 10th, but seems like it’s more a question of whether or not he can hit with his injury. That was the issue when he was out for an extended period of time a couple weeks ago.
I think if he’s healthy enough to play you either try to make Holmes work at 3rd, or you keep Murray there and have Holmes DH.
Then you take the hot bat and sit the shitty-fielding guy who’s 2-21 in his last six with just one RBI, and nine left on.
But you absolutely play your first/second-rounder if he’s able to go.
He did hit well but that blunder where he didn’t get an out on a ball hit right to him in the 8th almost cost UVA the game and made it go to extra’s. That can’t happen. Not knowing what you’re going to do with ball when it’s hit to you is unacceptable
Tiroly didn’t come to second and he had no time to get to the bag so he had to go to first.
He probably should have had processed that more quickly, but that appeared to be on Joe, not RJ.

If Becker can go, put him at third (where he largely was his first two years) and Holmes at short. Need the arm strength and range for Jax State’s bunting game.
Neither Murray nor Holmes has those capabilities at this time.
