Tennessee is going to be an interesting team to follow, Basket Under Review pod was talking about them recently, both in terms of the âhow do all these high usage players fit together?â thing that Jon Fendler pointed out, as well as how this roster is a bit of a offense-over-defense pivot for Barnes, which is an interesting late-career move.
The big takeaway with the Vols is that theyâre all-in to get Barnes back to the Final Four once more before he retires. He only made one, way back in 2003 when TJ Ford was his star, before even Kevin Durant.
And of course Tennessee is trying to be more of a basketball school as their football team loses its identity in the expanded SEC (theyâve still been good, but theyâve lost prestige relative to Bama, Georgia, Florida, and now Texas A&M and Texas⌠Similar problem and perceived solution at Auburn).
Point being, Tennessee is a market outlier and isnât a fair benchmark.
Iâm not sure itâs gonna work, also because those guys were mostly high usage on meh teams, but I respect Barnes for changing things up so late in his career.

As the story goes, Webbâs grandfather originally took to calling him Tater Head (who knows why; itâs what we do with kids). But after the boyâs friends started snickering, Gramps shifted to a more succinct potato reference. It stuck.

Webb says everyone knew him as Spud by then, but he still signed his real name (or Shone, a shortened version of his middle name) on school papers. The teacher wrote âSpuddâ on a project one day. He liked it and (yoink) adopted it as his own.

I discovered this by looking through Harmons games on Kenpom, then noticed GA Southern had a Spudd Webb, and was then immediately and viscerally upset that he was over 6 feet. Then I got happy because I figured it was a genetic miracleâŚ. Nope, just a family that needs to lose its nickname privileges.

Itâs been a couple years since I looked at the studies, but at that point there was no benefit to taking more than the standard 5g of boring creatine monohydrate, but people are always trying to push the envelope with this stuff. You will get to the same levels without a loading phase within a month.

This seems not quite right, or if it is right, itâs missing a detail. HIPAA applies to health care providers (and other health care entities), so either Peterson declined to authorize release of any more information (as is his right to do so), or there was some sort of agreement within the program to not share specifics of what was going on (as is their right to do so).
