That would be nice.

The Va tech one makes 0 sense. Hard environment? Yes. Is VT loaded with talent??? I know James Franklin hype and some HS recruits have gave them momentum?

I agree totally. I just don’t get it. They don’t have a good roster this year. I do understand we haven’t beat them there in forever but if there was ever a year to get it done….

QB - push (probably should lean UVA but I think Grunk is a decent player)
RB - push - Hawkins is a really good RB and Overton will be good too. UVA has much better depth plus still plenty of talent which is why I went push.
WR - VT - this is the strength of VT’s team imo. Not a ton of depth but Greene and QueSean Brown is one hell of a duo.
OL - UVA - UVa has one of the best units in the country. People are higher on VT’s OL than they should be. Sure they have some experience but those guys stunk.
TE - VT - Reynolds gives them the nod here.

DL - UVA - Copeland is good but they don’t have anywhere near the proven depth as we do, even if you ignore Holmes and Moore potentially coming back.
LB - UVA - this one isn’t close. Kaleb Spencer is good but not much outside of him.
DB - UVA - again not even close. VT added a few good guys in the portal in Chadwick and White, but I feel like they need a lot more as this unit was not good last year.

So while think there’s a scenario where VT has a good offense, there are just too many questions on defense for me. Plus a lot of their depth is guys who may have been highly recruited but haven’t seen the field much, so I think their record will likely be determined by how ready those 2nd and 3rd stringers are when their name is called because most other teams (including UVA) can go 2-3 depth at most positions with guys who have played a bunch of snaps at the D1 level.

I think their OL will derail the offense against teams with good DL’s and pass rush

Getting Holmes back would really soften the blow of losing Zion Wilson. Gives us some pass rushing on the interior.

Moore is great edge depth but agree that DT is a place where one more body is huge. Liked our Top 4 of Hammond, Britton, UAB xfer Jonathan Allen, and RS Fr Sichan John, but now we have some more injury depth. Not sure Darrion Henry Young is ACC quality based on his quiet stats at Coastal Carolina last year and injury history prior.

Love having Holmes back. Was one of my favorite players from last year. Just a relentless motor

Saw some clips today of the offense looking pretty good! I really hope beau can be our Chandler or better!

I think people are sleeping on Beau. Go hack to Mizzou football last sept before he got hurt, he had them humming.

With 5 in 5, you figure at least 1 of the QBs will be back in 2027, right?

Both already redshirted… so 5 in 5 doesn’t affect them. Between the two, only Holstein has another year of eligibility for 2027.

You’re right about Pribula. He’s HS class of 22, I didn’t realize he redshirted. Holstein is HS class of 23 though, so he has another year after this one.

Eli was probably told he will be the starter after beau. Hoping Cole competes with him next year!
