This seems like a big deal.

I assume this means Jodar is gone?
He’s on the 2025-26 roster.
I recall seeing an interview where Jodar said he intends to play in the spring. It was about how he and some other college players have found success on the Challenger circuit while still being in school.
His dad was a pro, and a big Spanish coach. Coached Rafa occasionally.
Dunno if this was an expected outcome, but bummer…

Makes sense. He went 37-12 in his first real season playing Challengers, and with 3 titles:
Ranked in the 160s, but his Elo rating (better measure of current strength) puts him at #62.
Certainly makes sense for him but still unfortunate. Wake is the definitely the favorite over us for the acc and national championship now
Good start to the year:
Replacing Jodar with a former junior world #1 is pretty nice.
Dominant singles performance. It’s extremely early but it would be big to win more of these early matches for NCAA seeding purposes. Big difference being a 3 seed vs an 8 seed and probably having to play a loaded Wake team in the elite 8.
We have owned the state of Texas this week. 4-1 win over #2 Texas without our #2 singles player
Absurd that this rule still exists
Former Hoo Rafa Jodar has his first round match in about 1 hour. Playing against a fellow qualifier so should have a pretty decent chance at getting through.
Wake Forest was preseason #1 but they just lost to now-#2 Ohio State, who UVA visits on Saturday.
First individual rankings came out also since the Fall: ITA / Rankings
The top-two battle with OSU tomorrow will be streamed here:
1PM start time.
Unfortunately lost again to Ohio State - both losses to them so far … really close match today though.
Does this indoor tourney count for the directors cup, or is team ranking a spring tournament?
