3rd and final AAU live period

Power 24 in Atlanta. Looks like Williford perched on the railing. There’s a couple interesting PFs in this game, Sam Murray for NO Elite, and Maliqe Ewin for Huncho. But it’s probably the next game he’s there for, Ven Allen Lubin and Ernest Udeh.

Daniels Skillings and Isaac Traudt amongst those in the 3pt shooting contest at Under Armour.

I know we’re ride or die with Traudt and he’s set at 4, but I’m still surprised the staff hasn’t looked more at big men. Is that the case or have they just found the wings more compelling?

Great recap. I obviously would love to have Bond but not going to lose a minute of sleep if he doesn’t commit. Would prefer Sensabaugh’s shooting and a taller wing like Dunn

Is there any chance they could land both Sensabaugh and a player like Dunn if offered? Just with the little I’ve watched, they seem to be different players.

I like Sensabaugh a lot but had the same reaction with Dunn I did the first time I saw clips of Jerome. Something jumps out about the kid. He’s the closest target I’ve seen to Hunter UVa recruit in a good while. Maybe this one has the same ending. Offer in late July and over by mid-September.

With Traudt, it does seem the staff has complete confidence he ends up at UVa just by their actions. Maybe they have been told quietly not to worry, I don’t know but they sure don’t seem to be pressing for another big with his skill set.

On Dunn from HGN’s article

He’s already a graduate of Long Island Lutheran (NY), planning to do a prep year at The Perkiomen School ¶.

soooooooooo reclass and redshirt? lol. I wish I could have reclassed and gone to college early/redshirted my academics…

When do the recruiting services do their next updates? Feels like there are a bunch of players that have scholarships and attention that don’t match their current ratings.

I think with Traudt worst comes to worse you can just slide Igor from the 3 to the 4 at his spot. Igor and Traudt can co-exist as they have different skill sets but they can also fill in for each other some. Just my guess. Probably you can take such gambles with our history of successful transfers/the transfer portal anyways.

Great minds think alike. I was going to pose a question along this line of thinking to @HoozGotNext. Since Dunn has graduated HS would he be willing to take a RS year of development in Cville instead of at a prep school in PA?

Yeah whoever gets Dunn will give him the option of enrolling to redshirt.

Lol so our redshirt history might actually benefit us in a recruitment

  1. Traudt is telling Tony “Yo im coming”
  2. Tony is calling Williford about Dunn “Ive found him. Ive found the one”
  3. Vandross calling saying that he heard a UNC assistant say “This is the year we beat UVA”
  4. One of any other infinite possibilities, from an old high school friend calling and telling a joke to Sanchez calling and reminiscing about the time the Taco Bell (on Emmett) renovations finally ended so they could get crunch-wrap supremes after practice.

More likely, “Hello Mr. Bennett, our files show your car warranty has expired.”

Fun fact: the Emmett Taco Bell’s drive through was open for almost all of those renovations, so I hope it isn’t 4.

“Yeah, a lot of kids have mixed feelings about red-shirting. We had a player once, Hunter, not sureabout red shirting too. Picked 4th so I guess it worked out ok.”

Edit - my phone is just killing me on this post.

You don’t have to redshirt him either. Could use length on the wing

Don’t think he’s that ready to make an impact. Also you’ll have Armaan, Taine, and Igor manning the 3, on top of Armaan, Taine, and McCorkle playing some two .

It’s the coordination combined with length. He’s also got some dog in him which is that intangible that has made our good teams great ones.
