but no i didn’t see any after 7 pages lol
Then they have much to learn.
NC State picks up the only road win of the day, @ BC in OT.
NC State edges BC in overtime.
Were there any posters on the board 5 weeks ago that were skeptical of any result less than national championship? And if so, how hard were they shouted down?
Last time we stormed (and it’s been forever), we were characterized as “sauntering.” Which was fair.
I’m just glad we don’t storm for wins over Duke and North Carolina anymore… that proves we are elite.
Duke was totally hosed. It’s just not fair making them play games away from Cameron.
Have we stormed since Duke in 13 or maybe Cuse in 14 when clinching our first banner of the Bennett era?
U Hall had a nice set up for storming the court. Some of those were great back in the day.
The best court storms are the small conference tournament championship games that are played on campus. They are essentially high school gyms and the bleachers empty in a matter of seconds from all directions.
I believe Cuse 2014 was the last.
I’ve been spending less time here and more time on the Duke message boards recently. Ironically, I find they say nastier things about Duke and nicer things about Virginia than we do.
Clearly I need to up my game on being nasty about Duke.
The talent they have compiled might be unparalleled in college basketball history. I don’t think even the old UCLA teams had the depth Duke should have on paper based on recruiting rankings. The difference is experience and the talent has to mesh. You can only play 5 guys at a time.
Bobby Knight in his construction of an Olympic team of college all stars had it right when he said: “not every player can play only 5 minutes a game and contribute” (approximately) when asked why he had chosen to leave out some stars for lessor known players.
Yup and like you said it was more a slow meander to enjoy the regular season title with the team than a storm
Tigers up 12 halfway through 2nd half at Pitt. I will update my power rankings later today. But if Clemson hangs on they have a legitimate argument to be #1. Road wins at Alabama and Pitt and no losses. They UNC and UVA seem to be the top 3 based on body of work so far.
A questionable Alabama team was their only real win of the season. Mid majors plus a bad Pitt team are not significant, imo.
Yeah, the DBR forums are remarkably thoughtful, well mannered, and complimentary towards UVA basketball.
I didn’t say they were complimentary. I said they sometimes say nicer things about UVA basketball than we do.
Clemson might be legit this year. I’ll withhold judgment, though, because Brownell is still coaching them.
Pitt #53 KenPom going into today’s loss. You really consider that a quality win? BTW, there was no one in their arena, so not sure they even had a homecourt advantage.
