Cuse-Cal is on the CW.

I think the ACC might have 12 or 13 bowl eligible teams?

Damn… 8 teams already bowl eligible I totally slept on that. And yea looks like guaranteed 10/11 will reach 6 wins.

ACC is a super conference

Dragon we need a great punting performance this week. No shanks, no rugby style fubars, the kicking game will be extremely critical this weekend.

SMU, Clemson, Miami, Louisville, Pitt, GT, Cuse, Duke already in.

Winner of Us or VT guaranteed to get to at least 6. Outside chance of both.

UNC plays BC and NCSU, 2 of them almost guaranteed to get 6. Decent possibility of all 3.

Cal just has to beat 2-7 Stanford or Cuse at home.

Slim chance of Wake winning 2 more games and they probably knock out UNC if they do.

So 8 so far, 11 for sure, good chance of 13, outside chance of 14, real slim chance of 15. And Stanford and FSU.

I think you’re right about the importance of punting. It was pretty good against Pitt and we had a couple lucky bounces that benefited the group as well. They don’t need to find the coffin corner on all the kicks but the ability to switch fields and not give up cheap yardage will be key.

Its funny to me seeing how many teams try “rugby style” kicking and they are so bad at it. I think if properly utilized as in going all in on it, the rugby style kicking could be a massive asset for a team if taught correctly. That means more than rolling out and kicking, but understanding the difference on ball placement to sky a ball, or kick a line drive or a banana kick.

Crazy that FSU is going to take the wooden spoon for the league this year.

Almost as crazy of the realization that the ACC will send 11 maybe 12 teams to bowl games.

Going with an old Domer and a college football Indie. I assume we will get blasted by 3+ TDs but interested in the seeing the hoopla.

I circled the game as a possibility to start the season, then changed my mind when I committed to going to Charlottesville for the SMU game.

Now I have have a cple ND friends who are going and I kinda want to jump on board. That win on Saturday got me fired up.

Not ACC related but Kennesaw State just fired their Head Coach Brian Bohannon. Interesting considering he basically founded the program in 2015 as their first HC and guided them from FCS to the FBS. In his first year in Conference USA the Owls are currently 1-8 and he was relieved of his duties yesterday.

College Athletics are a cold blooded business and it’s all about what have you done for me lately.

@CavTex Do you follow this guy? I follow him because all he focuses on is punting in NFL & college games and how they affect the outcome. It’s sooo interesting.

Must See Punts by @IsaacPunts… this one is on onside punt analysis:

You saying we could make 6 wins and still not get a bowl? Surely that can’t be possible (the not getting a bid with 6 wins part)

Dragon my man don’t do it. My Cavs have boofed every game that I have traveled to go see. But you grown…

So I have UVA in that group of possible Bowling teams. Just not guaranteeing it since they could lose out. Same as Tech.

@Richan34 that’s my fear. I don’t have great experience going on road games with the group. I don’t count watching them play down here at GT as a road game. Part of me is is saying listen to my age and just enjoy going to the SMU game next weekend.

Castellanos apparently portaling after being benched for the backup QB.

I don’t really understand the quitting mid-season and announcing for the portal when the portal doesn’t even open until December 3. I do understand if you’re trying to redshirt to preserve a year of eligibility, but if you’re not doing that, what’s the point? Other schools can’t legally talk to you and if they do it through back channels, they could’ve done that anyway. I guess you don’t have to practice and play anymore so you’re not risking injury? I dunno, it wouldn’t be my mentality.

Was just looking at the ACC standings and there are already 8 teams that are bowl eligible. And there is another 6 teams that need one more win. Out of those 6 remaining teams it’s very likely that 5 of those teams will win another game.

BC beats UNC
UNC beats Wake
NC State beats UNC
CAL beats Stanford
VT beats UVA

That would make 13 ACC teams bowl eligible. Leaving out UVA, Stanford, Wake, and FSU.

The ACC is tied to 8 bowl games, with two alternative bowls if the AAC can’t fill them. If the ACC gets 2 teams in the playoffs and fills the 8 guaranteed bowls, a few teams are going to get left out.

No one’s getting left out. There’s 35 bowl games that need 70 teams plus the 12 playoff teams. Some of the bowls still have guaranteed tie ins to the Pac-12 which obviously aren’t going to get filled.

If anyone gets left out it’ll be lower tier G5 teams. I’d actually bet on not enough total bowl eligible teams that they have to dip into the 5 win team pool.
