Well guys, I was thinking the Hokies were going to stink until I saw this. Really bulletproof logic, so Iām maybe changing my tune on them to see a darkhorse ACC contender:
Most everyone seems to be negative or hesitant of this team at best(understandably), so I am going to set some silver linings to be pondered. 1) The conference schedule LOOKS to be about as easy as you can get it. all three of Duke UNC and Wake (the top 3 projected ACC teams) We play each once, two of which are at home. And we close out with 3/4 at Home. We also never play more than 2 away games straight. 2) As JOSEWALES444 said above, we have so many unknowns that we just have to go out there and play. Who knows how good this team plays together, Basketball as a sport has shown time and again that several solid players with good chemistry will often do better than 1 superstar showboat. 3) a team that is 5-30 can make it to the Ncaa tourney. My point is we just have to Hit our stride at the right time EVEN if this team sucks, which I dont think it will. 4)We Finally have an athletic team not filled with āExciting Whitesā xD (its a joke dont cancel me) But seriously, we have athletes and in some games, thats all you need to take it over. 5) Best atmosphere in the ACC that contributes to best home field advantage. 6) we dismissed our PGās from being good once Hysier was kicked, but Hammond and Rechsteiner are now given the opportunity to step up to the challenge and I think Rechsteiner will. 7) Last but not least, We DO have depth as much as people want to say that it is speculation, and I think that Depth will Ultimately lead us to success. -Season prediction Approx.VT 19-11(12-8)
