Well - State’s experience with Duke has started off much better than ours did.

They aren’t in Cameron Indoor. Duke will figure out the zone, though it’s kind of remarkable the #1 team in the country hasn’t already done so.

Watching Evans miss & sighing. We didn’t see that on Saturday.

My hot take is that this year’s Duke team isn’t that great. They’re very good, but only about the same as a handful of other Duke teams the last decade…not at the same level as the championship teams or even a couple that didn’t get there. I don’t think there are any really elite teams this year, which surprises me given the unique circumstances that allowed for almost super team building. I think metrics disagree, I know Michigan was on a crazy kenpom pace anyway but they’re not in the ballpark of UVA’s title team or a dozen others the last decade. just my opinion, could be wrong. Boozer is a legit stud though….much better than I expected this year.

Another unpopular opinion here…I think Jon Scheyer is a really really good coach, perfect for Duke. Better than late career K, who I never thought really adjusted that well to the style of coaching the kids Duke gets these days need.

Another random HGN thought while watching this game….I admire the hell outta Will Wade for not giving a f about how weirdly out of shape he is.

And yet…lol

Scheyers been great - hard to really argue that. Even though we hate him

ACC rigging the tiebreakers to get Syracuse into the conference tournament. (Joking, I think, but it does make you wonder…)

Is SMU’s game at FSU a must-win for them now? T-Rank Teamcast seems to think so.

SMU is 4-6 in their last 10 games. I’m not sure if FSU is a must win, but if they lose they become very bubbly and I think they’re probably out. I still think it’s very possible that the ACC only gets 7 teams. I think it’s down to SMU and VT for a possible 8th, but both teams might need to win on Saturday to have a chance. I think Cal is already out.
